Greetings!
Recently I was doing some devotional reading out of "God's Message" and came upon an entry that peaked my interest. It was a reading from Deuteronomy 33:25, "Your sandals shall be iron and bronze; As your days, so shall your strength be."
This passage of Scripture records the blessing of the tribes given by Moses. Specifically, verse 25 is a blessing for Asher. It is a great verse in that it speaks of God's provision for life. It states that God would be with Asher all the days of His life and His strength would always be enough for the days he lived. What a great promise!
Each of us have need of strength and need of God. It may be for decisions, actions, ministry, family or relationships but the fact remains that we need strength. The strength we really need is not human. The strength we need is divine.
Divine strength surpasses human capacity and ability. Divine strength is what allows little girls to cast out demons, parents to have insight into their children, spouses to love and forgive, and youth the ability to obey! Divine strength is our need in this hour and day. It always has been and always will be. We must simply seek it and apply it to our lives. God is ready to dispense but are we asking and seeking the fulfillment of the great promise? |

Message Header
28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. 29 He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, 31 But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

| The Power Giver!
What a promise! Isaiah records this great thought from the heart of God to encourage the soul. God, all powerful and all knowing, is ready and willing to dispense power for those in need. Incredible! The everlasting God, the very creator of time, space, and all, has your back! He is in your corner. And, He is ready to supply power and strength to those that seek His face, ask, and await His supply.
If you are at all like me, and most humans, you want answers and strength immediately. The promise is that God will supply the strength that we need not when and how we want it. There is a difference in trusting God and trusting our request of God.
God hears prayer. God answers prayer. God doesn't always do things our way. One of my favorite verses is Psalm 115:3, "But our God is in heaven; He does whatever He pleases." God knows what we need and actually provides what we need and not what we want! This is the "waiting" part of Isaiah 40. We are to "wait" for God's power.
Acts 1:8 is a great example of the "waiting game" followed by the disciples to fulfill a great promise. Acts 1:8 describes the instructions provided to the disciples, "but you shall receive power ..." Jesus told them to wait and then to go! He knew that they needed divine strength to complete the mission and vision. He knew they needed divine strength for life and that they would fail without it. The disciples followed his instructions and "waited" by praying and seeking His heart. He showed up and filled them with His strength ... His Spirit!
Friend, you and I have great and precious promises spoken to and over us from God's heart. You can find them in His word. Read it and cherish each promise. Next, look up to the author of the promise and seek His face for relationship and strength. He will supply all your needs and He will do it in His time. Your task is to ask, seek, and wait. Remember, He nevers faints of is weary and He has your back! Thank God for His provision today and seek His power for a life that brings Him glory!
