Enjoying the Gift of Life

Greetings!

One of my dad's best friends died last night. His name was Ed Wright and he was a good man. Ed leaves behind his wife Kathy, son Mark and many family and friends.

I have known Ed for as long as I can remember. Ed attended just about all the significant events in my life - or he shared them at least. It is difficult to think of my childhood without Ed. It is hard to think of Kathy without Ed as my last 42 years have included Kathy and Ed or the Wrights. My heart hurts for Kathy and Mark.

Life is hard ... Train to win. This is not just a slogan I often state but a life perspective. I state it because it is true. People are born and that involves pain and joy. People live and life isn't always easy. People die and we mourn and celebrate their life. As I grow older, and those form generations ahead of me fade away, I realize more than ever the gift life is and desire to live mine fully.

Enjoy the Life that is in Front of You

"11  He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. 12 I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live."

~ Ecclesiastes 3:11-12 ~

Ditch the questions and live!

I have no idea why Ed died and my father is alive. I have no idea why some of my friends have given birth to stillborn babies? I have no idea why Kim and I lost twins before their birth? Why? Why? Why?

When life doesn't go our way, or as expected, we ask questions. The truth is we are not God and He is. Psalm 115 tells us that "God is in Heaven and He does whatever He pleases".

Here is what I do know ... I am to love God, love others and enjoy God eternally! This can only be accomplished with the right perspective and that is a life course that appreciates the hand of God and looks for it continually.

Life is to be enjoyed. Cherish this wonderful season and dare to be bold and enjoy the life God has provided. You have been blessed with family and friends and community ... Enjoy it ... Cherish it ... Make the most of every encounter! Seize the opportunities God has provided you to be ministers of reconciliation and agents of His divine love.

I pray you have a Merry Christmas focusing on the Christ of Christmas and all God had placed on the table of your life!
