Greetings!
This past week I watched two friends leave this life and enter the next. They were both young. They were both gifted. They both loved life and lived it to the fullest. I take from their youthful departure not sadness alone, but a renewed sense to live life fully and challenge others to do the same.
Friend, we are not promised the next moment, day or year. Life is a vapor (James 4:14) and it is meant to bring God glory and joy to our spirit. We are designed to live at peace in the pain and hurt of a fallen world. We are redeemed people in a yet to be redeemed world. Some day, things will change and we will meet God face to face. Until that day, may we strive to serve Him and know Him fully.
I am amazed as a watch generations of youth fall victim to the trap of an unexamined life. May I dare say that it is not just an epidemic among the youth but also in the rank and file of all that proclaim Jesus as Lord. We are a people that often leave the flock of Christ to play in other pastures. We may "know" these pastures are dangerous and yet we still stray. It is time we become focused servants of the Most High and live for His glory.

Today ... You will serve SomeBody... Who?
11 Then you crossed the Jordan and came to Jericho. The citizens of Jericho fought against you, as did also the Amorites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hittites, Girgashites, Hivites and Jebusites, but I gave them into your hands. 12 I sent the hornet ahead of you, which drove them out before you-also the two Amorite kings. You did not do it with your own sword and bow. 13 So I gave you a land on which you did not toil and cities you did not build; and you live in them and eat from vineyards and olive groves that you did not plant. 14 "Now fear the LORD and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your forefathers worshiped beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD. 15 But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."

Live for the King Every Day!
In Joshua 24, Joshua speaks to the children of Israel about their commitment to God. He recounts the things God has done for them and then he presents the challenge of choice. Joshua exhorts his people, "choose this day who you will serve" and then makes his personal declaration, "as for me and my house we will serve the Lord". Today you have that same choice ... who will you serve?
We live in a society that beckons your attention. You need this, you need that. You must have this or look like that. Your response to this world's plea displays who you serve. Nonetheless, your deepest need cannot be satisfied with worldly pursuits. What you really need is to have a deep and meaningful walk with Jesus Christ. You need a passionate pursuit of Jesus.
To live for Jesus daily we must separate ourselves from all things that rob Him of glory. We need to turn our eyes from wicked things and to pursue the things that matter to God. Remember, we are to be the people that pursue Christ with passion and show others the Way. We are the people that rise and state, "Lord, whatever this day has for me I surrender it to Your will and Your ways. Help me to see each moment as ministry and each issue as opportunity. Help me to bring you glory today as I pursue Your will with passion."
Friend, life is challenging. Life is hard and that is why we train to win. To win at life, both this one and the next, we must strive to bring God glory. Daily, arise and ask God to send you into the day He has created for your pleasure, your benefit and His glory. Next, listen to Him throughout the day and follow the rhythm of His grace. May He use you greatly and may you be greatly satisfied in Him.
