Adore Him!
Worship Jesus for He alone is worthy.
Greetings!

Merry Christmas!

Today, we continue our series focusing on the carols of Christmas by exploring the carol "O Come All Ye Faithful". "O Come All Ye Faithful" is probably my favorite carol. It simply pulls me in and ministers to my soul as it reveals my heart for Jesus Christ and the meaning of Christmas. Each Christmas, I so look forward to going to church on Christmas Eve and singing this beautiful song in worship to Jesus.

Can you imagine the amazing events surrounding the birth of Jesus? The Bible tells us of angelic choirs, the birth of a newborn babe, shepherds praising God, and the family of God resting in a humble manger.  I often attempt to place my self in the Biblical accounts I read. If I was at the birth of Jesus I would have love to have been one of the shepherds ... Go there with me ...

Scene 1:

You are shepherding sheep on a dark, cold and still night. An angel suddenly appears before you shining brightly. You am terrified! The angel speaks, "Don't be afraid for I bring good tidings of great joy to you and all. Your Savior is born and he is close. You will find Him in a manger nearby."  You reel in shock as you listen to the angel's message and then suddenly there is a multitude of angels as far as you can see and they are singing the most beautiful song you have ever heard:

"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!"

Scene 2:

The angels have just finished their concert. You and your shepherd buddy are awestruck. You discuss what happened and decide to leave immediately to find the Babe/Savior the angels announced. You walk in the crisp night for some time and see a manger in the distance. You begin to run. You buddy begins to run. Something amazing is about to happen!

As you round the corner of the manger you see Him ... the Babe. He is just as the angels said He would be but He is more. Now you know - He is not just a Babe. No, He is your King, your Savior and your Lord yet He is a vulnerable Babe. You gaze at Him and adore Him! You can't believe what you have witnessed but you know it is true. "Unto you a Savior is born" and He lays in front of you as a Babe! You bow in worship of your new found King!

O Come All Ye Faithful       (Listen here: O Come All Ye Faithful )

O come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant,
Oh come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem;
come and behold him,
born the King of angels;

(Refrain)
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.

True God of true God, Light from Light Eternal,
Lo, He shuns not the Virgin's womb;
Son of the Father, begotten, not created;

(Repeat Refrain)

Sing, choirs of angels,
sing in exultation; O sing, all ye citizens of heaven above!
Glory to God, all glory in the highest;

(Repeat Refrain)

See how the shepherds, summoned to His cradle,
Leaving their flocks, draw nigh to gaze;
We too will thither bend our joyful footsteps;

(Repeat Refrain)

Lo! star led chieftains, Magi, Christ adoring,
Offer Him incense, gold, and myrrh;
We to the Christ Child bring our hearts' oblations.

(Repeat Refrain)

Child, for us sinners poor and in the manger,
We would embrace Thee, with love and awe;
Who would not love Thee, loving us so dearly?

(Repeat Refrain)

Yea, Lord, we greet Thee, born this happy morning;
Jesus, to Thee be glory given;
Word of the Father, now in flesh appearing.

~ John 4: 23-24 ~

23Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."

Don't Miss Christmas ... Adore Jesus!

Do you want to know why I picked the shepherds? They were faithful. That's it. They were of no status or royalty but they were faithful. They didn't miss Christmas! They got it! May I be found as faithful in my day.

The true reason for Christmas is the adoration of Jesus! All other things that surround Christmas are secondary to adoring Jesus! Just as the shepherds left their flocks, their world, their life and ran to find Jesus and ADORED Him so to must we.

Friend, leave the flock behind you and run to meet Jesus this Christmas. Run to Him and simply adore Him. Worship Him in your spirit and in the truth of the gospel. Adore Him! There is none like Him! He alone is worthy of worship, praise and adoration.

I wish you a blessed Christmas! I wish you heaven's best and peace.  May you find Jesus and spend time simply adoring Him!

O Come, Let Us Adore Him,
O Come, Let Us Adore Him,
O Come, Let us Adore Him,
Christ the Lord!
For King and Kingdom,
