Cooler Weather for Great Market Shopping

It looks like cooler weather this Saturday will make shopping at the market even nicer than usual. And that's a good thing. Fresh melons, sweet corn, peaches, and tomatoes join the already impressive list of cheeses, bakery, meats, and more at the market.

Don't forget the flowers. Cut flowers, potted plants, hanging baskets, and ornamental peppers are just some of what you'll find at this week's market.

See you at market.

Carrots, beets, celery, and chard are joined by eggplant, fennel, beans, and herbs at this week's market. The variety and quantity of peppers continues to increase. Cucumbers, for salads, pickling, or chopping into a relish are at their prime.

Peaches will be at the market this week and possibly next. Ground cherries are available from several vendors.

Along with an excellent variety of meats there are hundreds of cheeses to choose from, including those made from cow, sheep, and goat milk, with additional assorted combinations. Select raw milk cave aged cheeses from Bleu Mont Dairy, cheddars, jacks, and Colby from Brunkow Cheese, or the well-known jalapeno pepper cheese from Chula Vista Cheese Company.

Fresh breads, buns, muffins, scones, cookies, pies, and other fresh bakery can be found throughout the Dane County Farmers' Market
(DCFM).
