The countdown is on to March break, March Madness, the Ides of March, and how about March of the Penguins. Wasn’t that an enjoyable documentary? Bet it wins an Oscar. The birds have the formal wear to attend the event. Yes, the countdown is also on for the Academy Awards. Speaking of Oscars and documentaries (Ed. note: beware the segues as much as the Ides of March), news on a documentary I narrated dealing with movie magic. The doc has several more air dates. Also this month, creatures, not in tuxedos - but rather funny clothes nonetheless, start marching back onto golf courses. I’ll tell you where to go. Nicely, of course. And we can’t forget the countdown to St. Patrick’s Day and all things Irish! If you’d fancy an Irish accent for an upcoming radio or TV commercial or you simply need a feisty Fenian in your next spot I can break out the brogue! **************************************** Leprechauns left a pot o’ gold at the end of the Winter Olympic rainbow for the American and Canadian athletes. A mere medal separated the U.S. and Canada to place 2nd and 3rd in the total tally behind Germany. Pictured here, Teaghan O’Shea cheers on Team Canada in men’s hockey. However, the random squeals were in vain. She could have skated better than Gretzky’s squad and she doesn't even walk yet. Redemption in 2010 with the games back on home turf in Vancouver, British Columbia. Tea(m)ghan Canada Support
I had the opportunity to narrate an extremely cool one-hour documentary that premiered this past Monday night on Discovery Channel (Canada). The special, ‘Science on the Red Carpet’, hosted by Dave Foley (Kids in the Hall, News Radio) goes to the 2006 Academy - Scientific and Technical Awards as the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences gathers to honour the behind-the-scenes creative geniuses that make movies so memorable.
It will air several more times: A great pre/post-Oscar program. Perhaps you'll discover if certain penguins were mechanical or computer generated. And who handled wardrobe. ![]()
Because all the other 4-letter words were taken! If you’ve witnessed Robin Williams’ interpretation on the origin of the game (link below) you get a sense of the frustration and the hilarity of chasing the wee white ball for 18 holes.
I’ve been getting into the swing of spring with some
golf-related voice overs. I just narrated a virtual
tour of the upscale Brightwater Golf Course
in Vail, Colorado. I also completed a new
round of sponsor ads for Golf Town.
I'm delighted to return as the voice for Golf Town's
2006 television campaign.
