Miami Existing Home Sales Rise, Home Prices

- In the Miami Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), sales of homes - including
existing single-family homes and condominiums - increased 27 percent in the
second quarter of 2010 compared to the second quarter of 2009 and 53 percent
compared to the second quarter of 2008. This rise marks eight consecutive
quarters of increasing sales according to the MIAMI REALTORS. Sales of
all residential property types have increased consistently since August 2008 in

Miami-Dade Pending Home Sales Increase 40.5 Percent from a Year Ago

Miami, FL - Total pending home sales - including single-family and condominiums - in Miami-Dade County increased 40.5 percent in July 2010 compared to July 2009, from 7,197 to 10,113, and decreased less than 2.4 percent, from 10,366 to 10,113, compared to the previous month according to the MIAMI REALTORS and the Southeast Florida Multiple Listing Service (SEFMLS). Ft. Lauderdale Market - 2Q 2010 | The Greater Ft. Lauderdale real estate market also continues to strengthen. Sales of single-family homes posted no change compared to the second quarter in 2009. Home sales had consistently increased in the Ft. Lauderdale MSA since September 2008. Condominium sales had increased over a period of 20 months - and second quarter sales figures show a 19 percent increase. Like in Miami, the median sales price for single-family homes in Ft. Lauderdale have started to increase. The median sales price for single-family homes in Fort Lauderdale rose seven percent to $209,800 in the second quarter, while condominium prices decreased 2 percent to $79,800. |
