Apple Harvest Festival at
Carter Mountain Orchard 
If you missed our festival last weekend, never fear - there's lots of fun still to be had! We continue to celebrate our harvest this weekend with music, crafts, food, hayrides, and lots of apples to pick!
Right now you can pick your own Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Jonagold, Stayman, and Granny Smith. Beginning this Saturday (10/11) we'll start Fuji, Winesap, York, and Braeburn. Many of you have been asking about Pink Lady - we are expecting to pick them beginning the last weekend in October.
We have lots of ready-picked apples available each day, and when you visit our Country Store, you will find apple butter, apple cider (buy plenty for winter - you can freeze it!), jams and jellies, local crafts, seasonal gifts, and much more.
The Carter Mountain Bakery has expanded, and we are cranking out our famous Apple Cider Donuts faster than ever! If you've never tried our apple pie or apple caramel cookies, you are missing out! The bakery is open every day.
We've also opened the Carter Mountain Wine Tasting Room and Wine Shop! We've been growing wine grapes for several years; now you can taste and purchase these wines! Free tastings every day.
Check out fall decorating supplies - pumpkins, gourds, mums, and indian corn - to get your home ready for fall!

Pick Your Own Pumpkins and Apples at
Chiles Peach Orchard 
Apples and pumpkins are the sure signs of autumn, and we've got both at Chiles Peach Orchard in Crozet!
Pick Your Own Granny Smith apples has started, and Pick Your Own Fuji begins this weekend. 
In addition, our Pumpkin Patch is now open, so come on out to pick your own perfect pumpkin, right from the field!
Ready picked apples are available every day - we've got lots of varieties to choose from. We are also stocked with ready-picked pumpkins, jams and jellies, apple cider, and local crafts. It's not too early start thinking about holiday gifts!
Need a treat? Our ice cream parlor is open every day, and we offer cider slushies (choose from apple or peach), homemade fudge (a thoughtful gift or just for you!), and apple pie!
