There is much happening in both our orchards this time of year!  Peaches are still available, apples are ripening, schools are planning field trips, and it even feels like fall!  Read on to get all the scoop!

The last of the peaches are ripening, and you can still pick your own at least through this weekend!  We will be picking all weekend, so come enjoy this summer treasure!  Pick Your Own, or get them ready-picked for your convenience.
 
We will have peaches available for sale til they are all gone, and apples are starting to come in daily.  Apple picking at Chiles Peach Orchard will be in October - we'll have Fuji and Granny Smith for you to pick.  
 
Our Bumper Peach Croppumpkin patch will open in early October, so plan to come pick your own pumpkin this year!

We are picking apples now at Carter Mountain!  Come this weekend and pick Gala, Ginger Gold, and Golden Supreme.  Other varieties will ripen soon.  See our Apple Availability chart to find out when your favorite apples come in season.
 
There will be a few pick your own peaches this weekend, and we have plenty of ready picked peaches and nectarines for you as well.
 
Our bakery is open, and we are still baking peach and apple pies, cookies, and serving ice cream.  We'll have peachy donuts this weekend too!
 
We are excited to announce our new Wine Tasting Room and Wine Shop!  We've been growing wine grapes for several years; now you can taste and purchase these wines!  Free tastings every day.

School Field Trips
It's not too late to book a field trip for your pre-school, elementary, home school, and day care groups for this fall!  We have great choices for you this year!
 
At Carter Mountain, we offer our Apple Picking Field Trip, which includes story time (pre-k) or educational presentation (SOL specific) and apple picking.  You can also choose a hayride, a pumpkin, and a snack for the group.  Last year almost 7,000 students took advantage of this unique learning experience.  Click here for more information and to register your group.  Apple picking field trips are available Monday-Friday in September and October.
 
At Chiles Peach Orchard, our Pumpkin Patch Adventure is being offered for the first time!  Bring your group for an educational presentation, hayride, pumpkin picking, and apple cider.  We are excited to expand our learning opportunities to your groups at our beautiful Crozet location.  Pumpkin Patch Adventure is available Monday-Friday in October.  Click here for more information and to register your group.
