Glorious Peach Bloom
Spring is here! Grass is getting green, children are playing outside, and the peaches are in bloom!

We look forward to this gorgeous sight each year.
Now, we must carefully monitor the temperatures, especially at night. The developing peaches are very vulnerable to cold. Many of you may recall the damaging freeze we had last April - we lost a large percentage of our peach crop. While we are hoping that this spring's weather will be more forgiving, we anticipate that over the next few weeks, we will pull many "all-nighters" - watching temperatures, running wind machines, and bargaining with Mother Nature!
If you are in the area, take a drive up Jarman Gap Road in Crozet to see the beautiful blossoms. They will probably last a few more days. |

Market Update
Many of you watched with anticipation as we built and then opened our new farm market last fall! We are very appreciative of your kind comments and support of our efforts. We have been busy this winter putting on some finishing touches, and
stocking it with jams and jellies, beautiful gift items, and local crafts.

Chiles Peach Orchard and Farm Market
will open on Friday, May 9th
Monday-Saturday from 9-6
Sundays from 10-5.
Our first crop of the year will be Strawberries! We hope to be picking the first berries in mid-May - watch your e-mail for updated ripening information.
We've also been busy updating our website this winter. Visit our site often for crop updates, pictures, recipes, and more!
