Happy November! It's still beautiful up on Carter
Mountain this time of year, and the forecast for this
weekend is fantastic - warm and sunny. It's a great
weekend to visit us! We have plenty of apples
already
picked and waiting for you - Red and
Golden Delicious, Stayman, Winesap, Rome, Gala,
Granny Smith, Fuji, and more. Are you familiar with
the Albemarle Pippin? This heirloom variety
was a favorite of Thomas Jefferson's, and has a very
distinctive flavor. Never tasted one? Ask one of our
staff members for a sample!
The Carter Mountain Bakery is open every day with
those famous apple cider donuts, apple pie, cookies,
and ice cream. We also have plenty of fresh apple
cider and apple butter. We are now taking orders for
apple pies for Thanksgiving. Stop by our
bakery any day to place your order, or call us at 434-
977-1833. All Thanksgiving pies must be picked up
by
2PM on Wednesday, 11/22.
Our shop is still full of crafts, apple butter, jams and
jellies, and other gift items. Get a head start on your
holiday shopping with our unique offerings.
Carter Mountain Orchard is located just off exit 121
from I-64, on Route 53, in Charlottesville. Adjacent
to Michie Tavern and Monticello, we are open daily
9AM-5PM. We'll be open every day through the day
before Thanksgiving (11/22), then Fridays,
Saturdays, and Sundays until Christmas (weather
permitting). Come see us one more time before
winter!
