Hello Friends! School is starting, temperatures are (slightly) cooler - there is no doubt, autumn is on the way! Come celebrate the end of summer with us this weekend! Peaches are still available, and our first apples are ready. Visit us at either Chiles Peach Orchard or Carter Mountain Orchard this weekend to enjoy the best of what summer has to offer, as well as anticipate the fall season. We hope to see you soon! There are plenty of peaches still to be picked at Chiles Peach Orchard - and they are better than ever! Labor Day Weekend is the perfect time to come out and enjoy summer's best treat. We will also have already-picked yellow and white peaches, as well as some early apples, for your convenience. We have a great selection of fresh produce (with some local veggies), and visit our Ice Cream Parlor for frozen peach yogurt, soft serve ice cream, and peach milkshakes and sundaes (made with our fresh peaches, naturally!) We will be open til at least September 10, and will have peaches til they are all gone! Call ahead to check availability. There are still a few peaches to be picked at Carter Mountain, and the first apples are in! We are currently picking Ginger Gold and Gala, and this weekend we will begin picking Golden Delicious. For those without the time or inclination to pick, never fear - we have plenty of fresh-picked fruit ready for you to purchase. Our bakery is now open - stop by for fresh-baked peach or apple pies, cookies, and hand-dipped ice cream. For those of you who can't wait for our apple cider donuts - the time is coming! We plan to start making donuts around September 9 (or as soon as we get some cider pressed)! Be sure to check out the offerings in our country store - local craft items, jams and jellies, gourmet food products, and much more. Enjoy the spectacular 40 mile view from our 2 observation decks - and don't forget your camera!
