Hello Friends! Peach Season is coming into full swing! Whether you choose to visit Chiles Peach Orchard or Carter Mountain Orchard, you will find a wonderful selection of quality, fresh-picked summer fruits. Peaches and Nectarines, both yellow and white flesh, are abundant now. Pick Your Own, or let us do the work and pick them for you. We are even picking a few Ginger Gold apples on the mountain now! Visit us at Chiles Peach Orchard for a fantastic selection of Pick Your Own yellow peaches. We have had a great picking season so far, and we have several more weeks to go! Don't forget to see our beautiful pre-picked White Peaches, Donut Peaches (a real favorite!), Nectarines, and White Nectarines - all fresh-picked daily. We have a great selection of fresh produce (local veggies are starting to come in!), and visit our Ice Cream Parlor for frozen yogurt, soft serve ice cream, and peach milkshakes and sundaes (made with our fresh peaches, naturally!) Mark your calendars for a special treat - our annual Homemade Peach Ice Cream Days - August 5th and 6th. The ladies of our local Pilot Club (a service organization) will once again be making their delicious homemade peach ice cream, with our peaches. This event can sell out, so plan to come early! We've started picking peaches at Carter Mountain - currently you can pick Red Haven. Beginning this weekend, our White Peaches should be ripe enough for you to pick - and even some Ginger Gold Apples! Yes, the first apples of the season are ready to pick! Yellow freestone peaches will be ripe for picking by approx July 25, and you can pick nectarines beginning approx August 1st. For those without the time or inclination to pick, never fear - we have plenty of fresh-picked fruit ready for you to purchase. We have even opened our bakery on weekends - stop by for fresh-baked peach pies, cookies, and hand-dipped ice cream. Be sure to check out the offerings in our country store - local craft items, jams and jellies, gourmet food products, and much more. Enjoy the spectacular 40 mile view from our 2 observation decks - and don't forget your camera!
