Leone d'Oro Sangiovese Scores Big!

 Figli d'Italia, the Sons of Italy for-profit corporation that manages and operates OSIA's wine program, is delighted to announce that its signature wine, the 2008 Leone d' Oro Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, received a coveted rating of 92 points from Wine Spectator Magazine. Wine Spectator Magazine is a widely respected industry publication whose rating system is considered a staple for all US and foreign products.
In addition, the Vino Nobile is currently available for purchase at one of the nation's largest retailers, Total Wine & More. While doing business in twelve states, Total Wine & More also offers the Vino Nobile on its online shopping website.

OSIA Supports Cooley's Anemia Foundation Event

The Sons of Italy and the Sons of Italy Foundation (SIF) supported and attended Cocktails on the Green, a cocktail reception for the Cooley's Anemia Foundation (CAF), hosted by Chazz and Gianna Palminteri in July.  Guest enjoyed cocktails, dinner and dancing at the reception, held in Bayside, NY. Event proceeds also benefited the Child Reach Foundation. The SIF has contributed $2 million to the CAF to date.

OSIA's Shasta Lodge #2453 of Redding, CA hosted the Annual Paesano Days Italian Festival at Anderson River Park on August 3-4, serving 1,000 festival goers to a pasta dinner.
What began as an Italian picnic has become a two and a half day event, including a three-day bocce ball tournament, to continue Italian culture and heritage. This is one of the Shasta Lodge's biggest fundraisers and is fun for the whole family.
