You have been here for the Sons of Italy Foundation through all our hard work this year. What better time than now to thank you for your support.
Whether you're a member, donor or friend, you've been an important part of our success in 2011. You have helped us:
- Contribute $90,000 to the Alzheimer's Association, putting us a step closer to our goal of contributing a second million dollars.
- Donate $140,600 to the Cooley's Anemia Foundation.
- Provide a scholarship to Medal of Honor recipient Salvatore Giunta and 10 other deserving Italian American students.
- Fulfill our $100,000 pledge to the National 9/11 Memorial & Museum.

The approach of the Christmas season and the end of 2011 is also the perfect occasion to share with you that now is a great time to continue that support.
For my family, my friends and me, Christmas is the season of giving and the season of giving back. Like so many others, we exchange gifts to celebrate the holiday but we also consider those who may need our help.
Perhaps there is no better way to do both than to make a contribution to a favorite charity in honor of our loved ones. We call this a tribute gift,and it is just one way you can continue your support for the Sons of Italy Foundation during Christmastime or any time of the year.

When you make a tribute gift, you are supporting the SIF's charitable causes while honoring a friend, family member or colleague. You receive the tax-deductible benefit for your gift, while the tribute honoree receives a thoughtful notification that you've made a gift in their honor!
Now is a good time to make a tribute gift not only because Christmas is around the corner, but also because the end of the year is fast approaching. There are 31 days left to make a charitable gift donation that is deductible on next year's return. (We know you must be busy this time of year but don't worry, we'll remind you again as we get closer to December 31!)
Every gift, including a tribute gift, is completely tax-deductible. You may designate your gift to any one of the SIF's special funds, all of them, or let the SIF apply your gift where it is needed most.
