Master Plan Update Holds Second Public Open House

On September 19, 2012, over 90 people attended the Anchorage Airport Master Plan Update's second public open house event at the Coast International Inn. The Master Plan Update team was on hand to receive comments, answer questions and to share information on the goals and parameters of the process. In addition, results of the new Alaska International Airport System (AIAS) Aviation Forecast, approved by both the FAA and the airlines, were presented.

You can read more about the AIAS Aviation Forecast here.

You can view materials (presentation, display boards, and handouts) from the September 19th open house on the Master Plan Update website library.

The Anchorage Airport will host a series of public meetings and open house events throughout the Master Plan update process, so stay tuned for the next event.

Part 150 Noise Study

At this time the Anchorage Airport is conducting a Part 150 Noise Study. This study is a stand-alone process with its own specific purposes and objectives, and is occurring simultaneously to the Master Plan Update. The Part 150 Study and the Master Plan Update will both incorporate results of the recent AIAS Aviation Forecast.

The overall purpose of a Part 150 Study is to reduce the number of people affected by significant aircraft noise levels within acceptable economic, environmental, and legal parameters.

The Part 150 Study will hold a Public Information Meeting on Wednesday, November 7 at 5:30PM at the Spenard Recreation Center. For more information on the meeting, and on the Part 150 Noise Study, please visit the project's website: www.anc150study.com
