Did you take Simran's Summer Solstice Class "A Comfortable Seat (Asana) for Tantric"?
Tell us what you thought HERE.
Dear Fellow Travelers,
Every summer, in the hot high deserts of New Mexico, I am with my friends, family, 3HO family-- fellow spiritual travelers, and I always feel that I am on a journey of joy of being with everyone, of self discovery, of challenging my perceived limits, of listening to my body, of relaxing into what is rather than fighting it.
This year I had to look at my mind: What makes me happy? What gets me upset? Am I judging? Can I change how I feel in the moment? Am I being the watcher of my experience?
One thing I did this year was be positive, I spoke positively about going to solstice, I focused on everything I enjoy about solstice: sadhana, people, serving, teaching, and I avoided what I 'don't like.' So I did get upset, but I tried to resolve this emotion as quickly as possible to return to being positive, even in the face of negative situations. I would focus on the now and just do what needed to be done. This allowed me to be much more content and at ease even in the face of discomfort. I feel I found my 'Sahej.'
The prior years of Summer Solstice which focused on Earth, Fire, Water and Air brought all of these things, in a way that only can be understood by being in a tent at Ram Das Puri! Last year, the year
of Air, in the middle of the night, after blowing around vigorously for hours, our tent finally was uprooted and blew down. We took out the poles, secured it with rocks and, I like to joke, "Got blown off the mountain!"
After the challenges of the previous 4 years, this year of Ether, I wondered what this would look or feel like at Ram Das Puri. The first thing I heard was, "Everyone is losing things!"
I made a choice at that point that come what may, I would work to be a little more conscious, a little more grounded and a little more aware, a little more present in each moment. This allowed me to just do solstice, not think, this year I just did!
I had a powerful, connected, fun, challenging and beautiful experience with the elements, the people, tenting, White Tantric Yoga, family and seva.
To all those who experienced the class on finding your comfortable seat, I hope that the tools shared, Root, Rise & Relax (turning off the unnecessary), are coming in handy during your yoga practice and meditations.
I also hope that your heart's contents-- your virtues (good, kind, brave, light, true hearts), are being carried as though they are precious!
In the class GuruPrem and I taught: Heal Me - so I can heal the world, we had a powerful experience with the understanding of how our bodies reflect our minds; how becoming aware of our bodies and having our heads bow to our hearts contents, we can heal our wounds--physical & mental. The music from the album, Heal Me also provided a profound sound track and meditative experience. You can listen and download this and our other titles at:

I am about to embark on my second 'Summer Solstice' of this year, I am teaching a Heal Me course at the European Yoga Festival, I look forward to seeing all the Europeans and those of you from the states at the European Yoga Festival.
