Chicken Tractor Tours
Sunday, September 30th
Meet up at One Island
and tour two local farms
Our first 'Got Eggs?' workshop was July 28th. Interest was expressed in continuing this learning circle with the next step being a tour to see a few different types of chicken tractors. This is a great example of learner-driven programming and we thank Nani and Pia for launching this community knowledge sharing.
September Gathering: Two local farms have generously invited us to come visit to see their chicken tractor designs and we appreciate their willingness to share what they have discovered about portable chicken coops for raising eggs.
First stop is Earthly Delights Farm with Bonnie Perata, and second stop is Honaunau Farm with Steve Sakala. Parking is limited at their farms so we have been asked to carpool. Meet up at 2 pm at One Island on Painted Church Rd (email for directions) and we'll carpool. Both locations are with in 3 miles so we'll be back to One Island by 4:30pm.
There is no fee for this workshop; donations are appreciated.
Farm fresh products will be available for sale at the farms.
RSVP to email@example.com to reserve a space in the workshop.
If you currently have chickens or ducks - or want to learn how to begin raising your own eggs - you are invited to join in this Green Living discussion circle.
