Whenever I receive a card with a handwritten message inside, I put it atop my mantle where it stays forever---to me, this is a place of honor. Some time ago my mate Marguerite came over and asked who all the cards were from and I laughed. "One person per card...through the years." I told her they mean a lot because the person who sent it took time to handwrite a personal message inside; I told her that I see it as a daily reminder to be thankful for the beautiful people in my life. She asked me if I wrote notes like this to my mates and I laughed out loud. "My handwriting's atrocious so I usually print, but my printing's not much better, so I e-note cards instead. Each time I do, I promise myself that one day I'll buy real cards and put handwritten notes in every one of them. That day just hasn't come yet."
A few months later at Thanksgiving, Marguerite got really excited when she handed me her "early Christmas present." Instead of saying "Wait till Christmas to open it," she urged me to "Open it now!" so I did. The note on top, handwritten of course from Marguerite, said, "The Day Has Come!" It was your handwriting kit, Transform Your Life Through Handwriting. The title made no sense to me, but she said she had bought a copy for herself, and once she read all of it, she knew I'd love it. I opened it right there and we sat down and she explained the whole thing: Guidebook, journal, cards...and especially the CDs. "You will learn all about what the letters mean, and how to write them so people can read them!" We both laughed.
To get me on track, and because she wanted support with her writing as well, we began the very next day, writing together at least 30 minutes, five days a week. Sometimes I'd write an extra whole page or two because forming those letters was really unfamiliar to me. Honestly Vimala---it felt as though I was writing a foreign language---not the words, but the letters that made them into words. Not easy! But when I listened to your CDs about the meaning of the letters, I realized I was learning a lot more that just "handwriting!" This, combined with the thought that I would be able to send REAL cards to my mates: "Thank You" or "New Baby" or "Congratulations" ---Yes, this is what had me not give up. I wrote and wrote and wrote! When my hand would start to hurt, I'd put down my pen, squeeze my hand into a fist and release it with vigor, over and over again until my hand didn't hurt anymore, then I'd pick up my pen and start writing again. Marguerite and I are now in our third 40-day cycle, and I've purchased over 30 Happy Easter cards and one Happy Birthday card, and I'm writing a note inside each one---for the first time in my life! No more e-cards from me! I've already begun writing in them, and all the cards will be in the post early this week.
And you know what, Vimala, my writing isn't the only thing that has changed; I have, too! I asked Marguerite if she noticed anything different about me and she laughed. According to her I listen to people now, and instead of telling them how they should be, I just let them be as they are, usually with a warm, accepting smile. She also said I am more gracious (her words). She also noticed that my "kinder side" is evident almost all the time now. From where I sit, all I know is that I'm HAPPY---for perhaps the first time in my life. You know, of course, that I'll be writing with your alphabet for the rest of my life! Oh Vimala---What a gift! Thank you again and again!
With love,

After years of study and research, Vimala Rodgers developed The Vimala Alphabet. Each letter shape is designed specifically to bring your hidden talents and abilities to life. As you begin to adopt self-affirming writing patterns, you naturally release those that are self-limiting, and at the same time you reconfigure the neurological patterns in your brain. This process is invaluable for people who are determined to let go of the past and stride ahead fully expressed in life. In scientific circles it is called neuroplasticity or cortical remapping. All it takes is pen and paper
Does it work? You bet it does! --- every time. Pick up your pen and experience it for yourself.

If you are among the courageous visionaries who want to transform their lives through the Vimala Alphabet technology, choose at least 3 letters:
- The first letter is the initial of your first name - not nickname, but your real birth first name. If you adopted a new first name after your 35th birthday, use that as your first name. By writing this letter, you will experience profound personal changes.
- The second letter is the Letter of the Week.
- The third letter is one you have chosen in order to bring about a specific transformation in your life. Choose a letter from the Vimala Alphabet Guidebook.
Follow these steps:
- Write at least 3 lines of upper and lowercase letters.
- Write on unlined paper in the landscape direction.
- No pencils, please. Use a pen.
- Begin by writing once, at the top of the page, the Declaration of Intent of the initial of your first name.
- Write the first and third letters for at least 40 consecutive days. If you skip a day, start over. 40 is the number of transformation; it takes 40 days for the neurons in the brain to realign themselves, which is what the process of adopting self-affirming handwriting patterns does.

Just as you have gifts unique to who you are, so does each letter. I call them "aspects." I'd like to begin our new venture by sharing one of those aspects, perhaps the most important one of all: the Guardian Protector.
Through the years I've studied hundreds of traditions throughout the world, and have found that within each one, there are such beings that we call called "angels" in English, yet are called by a different name in many traditions: devas in the scriptures of India, Al-Malaikah in the Qur'an of Islam, Malakh in the Hebrew Bible--and on and on throughout the world. To avoid religious distinctions, I call each one a Guardian Protector, because that is their role.
Trust me. They are as alive and attentive as you and I--just invisible, that's all--but fully present nonetheless. Create a conversation with them--then you will know. As with everything I teach, I insist that you do not believe what I say. To know in your heart of hearts that what I say is true, I suggest that you experience it by adopting suggested writing habits, along with applying the aspects of each letter, especially that of the Guardian Protector.

By looking at this stalwart letter, it is easy to see that it is power-packed and declarative with no ifs, ands, or buts. It stands true in itself---just as it invites you to do. In elementary school many of us were taught to make a double curve to form the uppercase letter (God forbid!) and to begin the lowercase with a midzone curve and a cross-stroke ending to the left at the baseline. (Arggghhhhh!) These are called "waffle s" because they give us permission NOT to be true to our word, and instead to "waffle." The Vimala is a no-nonsense letter that has you declare your stance clearly and authoritatively, from the inside out, with joy and self-assurance.
Guardian Protector: Sandalphon (SAND-al-fon)---the angel of spiritual power.
Sandalphon is not an angel for the faint of heart. In angelic lore he is reputed to be one of the tallest spirits in the heavenly host---as tall as his twin brother Metatron, Guardian Protector of the Letter , who is purported to be larger than planet earth. Just as Metatron's job is to assist us in keeping our thoughts pure and unbiased, it is Sandalphon who says, "Now stand by your ideas and don't waffle!" If you have difficulty standing up for yourself even when you know your input could make a difference, begin right away to court Sandalphon as your ally. As you practice writing the Letter , invite his presence. Trust me. This mighty leader will show you the way; he is merely waiting to be asked.
Declaration of Intent:
I stand by my decisions firmly, gently, and unflinchingly.
How to inscribe the most self-affirming letter
Uppercase: From the right side at the top of the upperzone, bring a diagonal stroke to the baseline. Pick up the pen, with equal determination, from the left of the upperzone, bring a diagonal stroke to the baseline at the right---keeping in mind that NO letter ends in a leftward direction.
Lowercase: A miniature of the uppercase, occupying only the midzone.
Please notice that this exhilarating letter is four V's joined in the heart.

Some time ago our Newsletter Angel explained why the lower loops when we write become "high flying" loops in the newsletter. In case you weren't here at the time, let me explain, as simply as I can with my minimal electronic knowledge: The formatting we use won't allow the loops to 'settle down' where they belong, especially when they appear on a mobile device...and we know of no other program that will. If these misplaced loops still bother you, you might want to do this: Practice writing lines of the Letter (patience), the Ligature (non-resistance), and the Letter (gentle acceptance of what is). You might also include a few lines of the initial of your first name, because that one letter holds within it your greatest opportunity for spiritual growth---a curriculum in itself, as it were.
Sursum et pergite! (Upward and onward!) Vimala

Last year, several "Handwriters for Peace" members requested, and we formed, an Alphabetical Prayer Circle through which members could ask for specific prayers in emergency situations and we would hold both those intentions with our own intentions in our prayers.
Because it's time to expand the Circle, I'm inviting you to join us. There is no need to become a Handwriter for Peace, nor do you have to give me your name, only your e-mail address, as I send all Prayer Circle Emails as BCCs. If you choose to join us, please send an e-mail to vimala@vimalarodgers.com with PRAYER CIRCLE in the Subject Box and this message: I'd like to join your Alphabetical Prayer Circle.
To strengthen our intentions, each day we agree to spend a precious 10 seconds once---or many times a day---offering our Alphabetical Healing Prayer:
Fill each of us with Your Healing Light: those of us in this Prayer Circle, all those we love, and all those we have difficulty loving. Thank You.
Also...In the course of the day, each of us devotes a few minutes of quiet time to write, on unlined paper, one line of the initial of our first name (not nickname) in both upper- and lowercase. Just one line; that's it...more if you care to. Read more online...
