Five months ago I changed my handwriting---on a lark, as it were, because my life was not going well. The company I had been working for, for over 13 years, shut its doors, and of course, all of us were let go. Although every day I sent out resumes---no one responded positively. Not one.
About two weeks after I lost my job, I was in a local bookstore where you were giving a talk. I wasn't in the audience listening to you, but in an adjacent aisle, looking through shelves of books on "self help." I couldn't help hearing you, and the one sentence of yours I overheard that "stuck," went something like this: "If your life is working just the way you want it to, don't change your handwriting, because once you do, your life will open up in the most unusual ways...and keep a smile on your face."
I'm putting quotes around that, although it isn't exactly what you said, but it's sure what I heard! "Change my handwriting in order to be happy? Preposterous!" But as that doubt registered, I saw your book right in front of me on the book shelf! Not one to believe in "coincidence," I took a deep breath, pulled it from the shelf, started to leaf through it, found your approach logical---so I bought it.
When I got home that night I read the book cover to cover and was fascinated, especially at the logic of it. It made perfect sense. I started that night to play around with some of the letters and realized that instead of just writing them offhand, if I wanted to achieve a goal, I needed to follow your directions. No lines? Oh well. So the next day I gathered a stack of blank 20 pound paper, had it bound into a journal at a local copy shop and at noon I began my writing practice.
I did as you insisted and set a goal: To be hired by a company whose attitude I found compatible with mine---honest, forthright, and who truly cared about both the staff and the customer.
I didn't have a specific job or company in mind, but only one in which I could use the skills I had already developed, and be offered the chance to learn even more. I also wanted a job that would give me a sense of personal fulfillment. In view of all that, I set aside a specific time each day to write, and did I write---every day!---sometimes for as long as two hours! I was determined. I won't elaborate on the difficulty I found in shaping most of the letters, but I will say: I did it!
I continued to send out resumes, but narrowed the field of "company choices" because it felt right. On the very last day of my second 40-day cycle of writing, I received what I call a "job offer from heaven," and the request for an interview. It was from a company with a completely different background than one at which I had worked, but it felt ideal. Of course I accepted the invitation, and the first interview was with three people in the company; the second interview was with the head of the department in which I'd be working. Our attitudes matched...and we even laughed at a few things we had in common. The next day I received a phone call asking me to come to the company again, which I did.
When I came in I was given a one-page form and asked to fill in the lines on the top half of the form, "print it please," and to fill the blank space at the bottom half of the page sharing my relevant background, "handwrite it please." Although I found this to be a rather strange request, with my new handwriting in place, of course I was delighted. I pulled out my pen and began. When I gave the completed form to the person who had given it to me, as she glanced at it her response was a very big smile followed by laughter and a verbal high five. It surprised me because I hadn't said anything on the form that would bring out such a response. Then I found out why she was so excited. The head of their H.R. department had studied with you, knew what to look for in handwriting patterns, and had encouraged everyone in the company at least to adopt a "Vimala letter" as the initial of their first name. Shortening a long story, although it was a thoroughly refreshing one, I was hired.
My initial position was in the H.R. department, and so the manager of H.R. and I have gotten to know one another. We've found out we have a lot in common, and regularly talk about the effects of writing with your alphabet. Truthfully, I have never been happier in any job I've ever had. Professionalism, honesty, fun, respect, and mutual support are the foundation of this company because the people who run the show, whether managers or staff, are kind, open, helpful, and want everyone to be successful. Yes, this job is truly one from heaven, and I'm absolutely certain that it came to me---or I came to it!---because I adopted your Vimala script.
And yes, Vimala, per your suggestion, I write at least one Thank You note every week. Each time I write one of these notes, I am finding that it is as much a gift to me as it is to the person I write it to, because it's a reminder of how blessed I am to have caring people in my life.
Vimala...please consider this my Thank You note to you!
Most sincerely,
M.J.L.

After years of study and research, Vimala Rodgers developed The Vimala Alphabet. Each letter shape is designed specifically to bring your hidden talents and abilities to life. As you begin to adopt self-affirming writing patterns, you naturally release those that are self-limiting, and at the same time you reconfigure the neurological patterns in your brain. This process is invaluable for people who are determined to let go of the past and stride ahead fully expressed in life. In scientific circles it is called neuroplasticity or cortical remapping. All it takes is pen and paper.
Does it work? You bet it does! -- every time. Pick up your pen and experience it for yourself.

If you are among the courageous visionaries who want to transform their lives through the Vimala Alphabet technology, choose at least 3 letters:
- The first letter is the initial of your first name - not nickname, but your real birth first name. If you adopted a new first name after your 35th birthday, use that as your first name. By writing this letter, you will experience profound personal changes.
- The second letter is the Letter of the Week.
- The third letter is one you have chosen in order to bring about a specific transformation in your life. Choose a letter from the Vimala Alphabet Guidebook.
Follow these steps:
- Write at least 3 lines of upper and lowercase letters.
- Write on unlined paper in the landscape direction.
- No pencils, please. Use a pen.
- Begin by writing once, at the top of the page, the Declaration of Intent of the initial of your first name.
- Write the first and third letters for at least 40 consecutive days. If you skip a day, start over. 40 is the number of transformation; it takes 40 days for the neurons in the brain to realign themselves, which is what the process of adopting self-affirming handwriting patterns does.
- Write the third letter for a single week.

Just as you have gifts unique to who you are, so does each letter. I call them "aspects." I'd like to begin our new venture by sharing one of those aspects, perhaps the most important one of all: the Guardian Protector.
Through the years I've studied hundreds of traditions throughout the world, and have found that within each one, there are such beings that we call called "angels" in English, yet are called by a different name in many traditions: devas in the scriptures of India, Al-Malaikah in the Qur'an of Islam, Malakh in the Hebrew Bible--and on and on throughout the world. To avoid religious distinctions, I call each one a Guardian Protector, because that is their role.
Trust me. They are as alive and attentive as you and I--just invisible, that's all--but fully present nonetheless. Create a conversation with them--then you will know. As with everything I teach, I insist that you do not believe what I say. To know in your heart of hearts that what I say is true, I suggest that you experience it by adopting suggested writing habits, along with applying the aspects of each letter, especially that of the Guardian Protector.

Soul Quality: Unstoppable dynamic self-expression.
The Letter emits one of the most powerfully propelling energies in the entire alphabet. Just look at it. It introduces itself with two "I am" strokes. It doesn't get much better than that! By practicing it daily and drawing into your life as many of its aspects as you possibly can-get ready for the adventure of your life. We often backpedal rather than share the vision of how we want to shape our dreams in the world. Why? We're convinced that someone will douse them with negativity. The Letter won't allow it. It not only moves you forward, it invites you to learn necessary lessons from the blind alleys you encounter along the way and guides you through them with dynamic, not-for-sissies energy. If you want to put firm footing on your intended life path, this is the letter to adopt.
As a sidebar, I have practiced the Letter daily for over 30 years; not surprisingly, I experience its "Just go do it!" energy each day---yes, each day. Miracles and open doors greet me everywhere I go.
Guardian Protector: Cerviel (Sir-vee-EL)---the angel of courage.
When President Woodrow Wilson asked that Alice Paul be put in an insane asylum for insisting that women have the right to vote, this was the reply of the M.D. who denied his request: "Courage in women is often mistaken for insanity."
Cerviel fills you with irresolute courage when others may question the validity of your lifework because it's unfamiliar to them or, more likely, that it's never been done before. When you feel cornered by negative judgments, as you write your Letter , strike up a conversation with Cerviel. Trust me---She will be right there to keep your intentions alive and give you what it takes to carry on. I speak from experience when I say that she will remind you again and again, "This is your life---not anyone else's. I am right here to give you what you need: Opportunities and the courage to embrace them. Now GO---Live your life path fully!"
Declaration of Intent: I live my life path with the zeal of an evangelist and the wide-eyed innocence of a child!
How to inscribe the most self-affirming Letter
Uppercase
- Firmly inscribe two "I am" strokes.
- At the baseline of the second stroke, keep pen on paper, reach to the left beyond the first "I am," creating a horizontal loop that says, "Nothing can stop me!"
- Finish this loop with a vigorous ending stroke to the right.
Lowercase
- Inscribe a loop filling mid- and upper zones.
- At the baseline, pull away from this l shape and inscribe a vshape as you begin to form the arcaded
.
Caveat: Do not retrace up the l shape at the baseline.
When you begin a word with a lowercase , start at the baseline...never up in the air!

Last year, several "Handwriters for Peace" members requested, and we formed, an Alphabetical Prayer Circle through which members could ask for specific prayers in emergency situations and we would hold both those intentions with our own intentions in our prayers.
Because it's time to expand the Circle, I'm inviting you to join us. There is no need to become a Handwriter for Peace, nor do you have to give me your name, only your e-mail address, as I send all Prayer Circle Emails as BCCs. If you choose to join us, please send an e-mail to vimala@vimalarodgers.com with PRAYER CIRCLE in the Subject Box and this message: I'd like to join your Alphabetical Prayer Circle.
To strengthen our intentions, each day we agree to spend a precious 10 seconds once---or many times a day---offering our Alphabetical Healing Prayer:
Fill each of us with Your Healing Light: those of us in this Prayer Circle, all those we love, and all those we have difficulty loving. Thank You.
Also...In the course of the day, each of us devotes a few minutes of quiet time to write, on unlined paper, one line of the initial of our first name (not nickname) in both upper- and lowercase. Just one line; that's it...more if you care to. Read more online...
