Stories from the Heart

I'm a physician. I noticed that one of my patients had been changing rather dramatically after only two visits, yet I hadn't prescribed any medications, so I was wondering. During her last appointment I complimented her on her new attitude, and expected her to say she had a new boyfriend, or that a similar incident had occurred. Instead, she laughed, reached into her daypack, and handed me your book. She said that she was going to tell me that she didn't feel the need to see me anymore "because of my new writing habits" were her words. She continued: "I'd give you my copy, but I've highlighted it a lot, so if you'd really like to read it I'll get one for you and drop it by this afternoon. You could help so many people by suggesting they use it."

Synchronicity being what it is, a group of us at my church had just finished attending six class sessions discussing Dr. Frank R. Wilson's book, The Hand, in which he scientifically expands on the brain/hand dynamic. The concept of changing one's life/attitudes/self-awareness through handwriting drove my curiosity to a peak---so I went to your website to see what you had to say, then opened your book, read it twice in one day, and began my writing practice. That was more than three months ago and yes, I've written your letters every day exactly as you've directed.

I'm writing this to ask you to let your readers know that there is an inborn dynamic between the hand and the brain, and that you, Vimala, have tapped into a simple to use scientific approach to accessing the spirit-based part of us with each of your letters. What you share is not for a select few; it is for anyone who chooses to write with your alphabet, for the spirit/soul is ubiquitous to every human being.

In the few months I've been writing, I've gradually let go of habitual thinking patterns that had me assume I was doing what I was supposed to be doing with my education and my life. I've come face to face with the realization that I want to go beyond merely guiding people in restoring their health. I have awakened to a quiet longing hidden in my heart since I was a child, and I've  begun to take steps to bring that part of me alive. Today I mailed off a letter to Medecins Sans Frontieres aka Doctors Without Borders applying for a field position on their healing team. If any of your readers wants to know more about who they are: http://www.doctorswithoutborders.org/aboutus/

When I tell my peers what I've done, I have a feeling two of them will  follow this same path.

And all I did was change my handwriting. Thank you, Vimala---and God bless.

What is the Vimala Alphabet?  Vimala Rodgers

After years of study and research, Vimala Rodgers developed The Vimala Alphabet. Each letter shape is designed specifically to bring your hidden talents and abilities to life. As you begin to adopt self-affirming writing patterns, you naturally release those that are self-limiting, and at the same time you reconfigure the neurological patterns in your brain.  This process is invaluable for people who are determined to let go of the past and stride ahead fully expressed in life.  In scientific circles it is called neuroplasticity or cortical remapping.  All it takes is pen and paper.

Does it work? You bet it does! -- every time. Pick up your pen and experience it for yourself.

How to Begin

If you are among the courageous visionaries who want to transform their lives through the Vimala Alphabet technology, choose at least 3 letters:

  • The first letter is the initial of your first name - not nickname, but your real birth first name. If you adopted a new first name after your 35th birthday, use that as your first name. By writing this letter, you will experience profound personal changes.
  • The second letter is the Letter of the Week.
  • The third letter is one you have chosen in order to bring about a specific transformation in your life.  Choose a letter from the Vimala Alphabet Guidebook.

Follow these steps:

  1. Write at least 3 lines of upper and lowercase letters.
  2. Write on unlined paper in the landscape direction.
  3. No pencils, please. Use a pen.
  4. Begin by writing once, at the top of the page, the Declaration of Intent of the initial of your first name.
  5. Write the first and third letters for at least 40 consecutive days. If you skip a day, start over. 40 is the number of transformation; it takes 40 days for the neurons in the brain to realign themselves, which is what the process of adopting self-affirming handwriting patterns does.
  6.  Write the third letter for a single week.
Aspects of the Letters

Just as you have gifts unique to who you are, so does each letter. I call them "aspects." I'd like to begin our new venture by sharing one of those aspects, perhaps the most important one of all: the Guardian Protector.

Through the years I've studied hundreds of traditions throughout the world, and have found that within each one, there are such beings that we call called "angels" in English, yet are called by a different name in many traditions: devas in the scriptures of India, Al-Malaikah in the Qur'an of Islam, Malakh in the Hebrew Bible----and on and on throughout the world. To avoid religious distinctions, I call each one a Guardian Protector, because that is their role.

Trust me ---They are as alive and attentive as you and I--just invisible, that's all--but fully present nonetheless. Create a conversation with them---then you will know. As with everything I teach, I insist that you do not believe what I say. To know in your heart of hearts that what I say is true, I suggest that you experience it by adopting suggested writing habits, along with applying the aspects of each letter, especially that of the Guardian Protector.

Letter of the Week - Qq - The Letter of Selfless Service to Humanity

Like other members of the Family of Communication, the uppercase Q is round, although the lowercase q has an oval in the midzone. As do all letters in the Family of Communication, it manifests the ego in some regard. Like its sister the letter O, the uppercase Q is circular, drawn in a clockwise direction, yet it has one more piece: a curvy stroke emanating from within itself on the baseline.

The lowercase q drops into the lower zone, and like its cousin the lowercase f, it completes itself with a loop to the right. (Note: it is not possible in this e-newsletter to accurately show the letters falling below the baseline.)  This rightward lower loop occurs only in the q and f, because those are the letters that proclaim one's drivenness to assist ailing humanity in some way with absolutely no concern about one's outer image. This is followed by a horizontal loop that begins to the left of the original down stroke and thrusts itself off to the right. I call the Letter Qq the "Mother Teresa Letter" because it exemplifies her life so naturally.

If you see something in the world that you know needs to be addressed, and you are willing to be the one who gets it on its feet, begin to write lines and lines of the Letter Qq, along with words that contain it. For the uppercase you may need to make up words or use words from foreign languages. Although English has precious few, Spanish, for example, has many proper nouns that begin with the Letter Q.

Declaration of Intent: I lighten the hearts and lives of those whom others pass by.

Guardian Protector: Uriel (ew-ree-EL)---the angel of selfless service.

To hasten the appearance of your dreams in real time, create a two-way relationship with Uriel, inviting him to clear your mind of excuses, and instead to focus on the heart of the project at hand and your ability to have it happen. At the same time, make the Letter Qq your constant companion. Carry unlined writing paper with you wherever you go; every chance you get, write lines and lines of the Letter Qq, connecting with Uriel as you move the pen.

Don't for a moment confuse "service" with "servitude." Uriel's assignment in the world is to guide and support those of us who have a dream for a better world---those of us who are willing to put our career or our life on the line to make it happen. "Selfless service to humanity" is a matter of combining all your talents, abilities, and passion into a skillset that will be the heart of your offering. It's an attitude of mind from which you say, "I know this change is needed, and nothing will stop me from manifesting it. Nothing!"

How to Inscribe the Letter
Qq

Uppercase: Beginning and ending at the top of the upper zone, inscribe a clockwise circle (yes, clockwise; yes a circle, not an oval) filling both upper- and midzones. Draw a "little worm peeking outside the circle" as the children call it, at the baseline. Worms are curvy; no angle here, please.

Lowercase: Inscribe an oval (oval) filling the midzone, and as you finish forming it, drop into the lower zone and form a loop to the right.  Keeping pen on paper, as you reach the baseline, go to the left of the initial downstroke creating a horizontal loop beneath the oval---or as the children say, "put a pillow beneath the sleepyhead." The horizontal stroke you have inscribed---this "pillow for the sleepyhead"---is the same  final stroke that occurs in the lowercase Letter f. When completed with a vigorous stroke to the right, it makes the same proclamation: Nothing will stop me!

Please Join Us

Last year, several "Handwriters for Peace" members requested, and we formed, an Alphabetical Prayer Circle through which members could ask for specific prayers in emergency situations and we would hold both those intentions with our own intentions in our prayers.

Because it's time to expand the Circle, I'm inviting you to join us. There is no need to become a Handwriter for Peace, nor do you have to give me your name, only your e-mail address, as I send all Prayer Circle Emails as BCCs. If you choose to join us, please send an e-mail to vimala@vimalarodgers.com with PRAYER CIRCLE in the Subject Box and this message: I'd like to join your Alphabetical Prayer Circle.

To strengthen our intentions, each day we agree to spend a precious 10 seconds once---or many times a day---offering our Alphabetical Healing Prayer:

Fill each of us with Your Healing Light:
those of us in this Prayer Circle,
all those we love,
and all those we have difficulty loving.
Thank You.

Also...In the course of the day, each of us devotes a few minutes of quiet time to write, on unlined paper, one line of the initial of our first name (not nickname) in both upper- and lowercase. Just one line; that's it...more if you care to. Read more online...
