Because of its demise and resurrection within such a short period of time, my newsletter has become just that--a new-letter--thanks to your inspiring responses. Because the interest and support you expressed in your notes was not casual, but on fire with "You must keep sending it!" --- Thank you --- I've decided to add a new section within the Letter of the Week introducing Aspects of the Letters.

Stories from the Heart

My next door neighbor, I'll call her Anna (not her real name), complained about anything she felt was "wrong" in her view: in the neighborhood, the City Council, the school system, the government. You name it. In her mind NOone did anything the way she said it should be done. She was always right. She'd leave notes in my screen door complaining about my dog barking (he's usually pretty quiet), that I didn't cut my lawn often enough, and a litany of other things that annoyed her. It's been that way in the three years I've lived here, and I've kind of gotten used to it.

Then last month, out of the blue, she came to my front door and asked--pleasantly--if I'd mind if she trimmed the edges of my lawn because she had just bought an edger and was eager to try it out. She did NOT blame me for the lawn's ragged edges as she had in the past. Then she smiled...I was caught completely off guard and said, "Sure. Go ahead." She thanked me and smiled again. As she turned to leave, she asked if I'd like her to put the lawn trimmings into my compost bin. Another smile. As she walked down the front steps she added, "I'm glad your dog is such a good guard dog. It puts my mind at rest"--and she headed for the front lawn. Me? I was in shock! My thought? "She's got to be on meds--or she's in love or in therapy--or all three!"

The notes she slipped in my screen door became Thank You notes for this or that---and I could actually read them without trying to figure out what her previous scratchy scrawl had said. After a few weeks I commented on her new handwriting, and along with a smile, her eyes lit up! She asked me to "wait a minute," went home and got your book. "My son gave it to me for my birthday so he could read the notes I send him. I been writing every day for almost two months now, and just love it!" She went on and on about how writing had actually made her a happier person, and that everyone she knew had noticed it. She pulled out a small notebook and wrote a huge A, telling me that the initial of our first name was important to draw well, and how proud she was of hers. She ended with a warm laugh---the first one I had ever heard from her. Nuf said.

I bought your book and have just begun reading it. May it turn MY life around as dramatically as it has my neighbor's! A's son gave her a subscription to your newsletter and printed out a copy for me. It's very helpful---and I thought you'd enjoy this story from MY heart.

Most sincerely,

Ben S.

What is the Vimala Alphabet?  Vimala Rodgers

After years of study and research, Vimala Rodgers developed The Vimala Alphabet. Each letter shape is designed specifically to bring your hidden talents and abilities to life. As you begin to adopt self-affirming writing patterns, you naturally release those that are self-limiting, and at the same time you reconfigure the neurological patterns in your brain.  This process is invaluable for people who are determined to let go of the past and stride ahead fully expressed in life.  In scientific circles it is called neuroplasticity or cortical remapping.  All it takes is pen and paper.

Does it work? You bet it does! -- every time. Pick up your pen and experience it for yourself.

How to Begin

If you are among the courageous visionaries who want to transform their lives through the Vimala Alphabet technology, choose at least 3 letters:

  • The first letter is the initial of your first name - not nickname, but your real birth first name. If you adopted a new first name after your 35th birthday, use that as your first name. By writing this letter, you will experience profound personal changes.
  • The second letter is the Letter of the Week.
  • The third letter is one you have chosen in order to bring about a specific transformation in your life.  Choose a letter from the Vimala Alphabet Guidebook.

Follow these steps:

  1. Write at least 3 lines of upper and lowercase letters.
  2. Write on unlined paper in the landscape direction.
  3. No pencils, please. Use a pen.
  4. Begin by writing once, at the top of the page, the Declaration of Intent of the initial of your first name.
  5. Write the first and third letters for at least 40 consecutive days. If you skip a day, start over. 40 is the number of transformation; it takes 40 days for the neurons in the brain to realign themselves, which is what the process of adopting self-affirming handwriting patterns does.
  6.  Write the third letter for a single week.
Aspects of the Letters
Just as you have gifts unique to who you are, so does each letter. I call them aspects.  I'd like to begin our new venture by first sharing the Guardian Protector of each Letter of the Week.

Through the years I've studied hundreds of traditions throughout the world, and have found that within each one, there are such beings as angels, albeit called by a different title, such as devas in India. To avoid religious distinctions, I call each one a Guardian Protector, because that is their role. Trust me---They are as alive and attentive as you and I, just invisible, that's all---but fully present nonetheless. Create a conversation with them---then you will know.

As with everything I teach, I insist that you do not BELIEVE what I say. To know in your heart of hearts that what I say is true, I suggest that you EXPERIENCE it by adopting suggested writing habits, along with applying the aspects of each letter, beginning with the Guardian Protector.
Letter of the Week - Aa

The Letter Aa invites you to be center stage and allow Spirit to shine through you--- leaving  your personality in the wings.

Although all the letters in the alphabet are sacred manifestations of who we are, the Letter Aa is considered the most sacred, above all the others. Tales abound in alphabetical traditions about this Star of the Alphabet. In the Bhagavad Gita of India, Lord Krishna, representing God, proclaims "Of all the letters, I am the A!" In the Hebrew Alphabet, God rewarded Aleph's modesty by placing her as the first letter in the Decalogue. In the Book of the Revelation in the New Testament, God did not say "I am the 9 and the 46"; He proclaimed gustily, three times, "I am the Alpha and the Omega." No room for other examples here, but there are many. Inscribing the Star A transforms your expression from self-consciousness to Spirit-consciousness. If your first name begins with the Letter A, how blessed you are. Embrace it! Live it!

Declaration of Intent: Today I will step back from my personality and invite Spirit to influence all my interactions.

Guardian Protector: The Guardian Protector of the Letter Aa is Gabriel (pronounced Gahb-ree-EL), known in countless traditions as the bearer of good news, the one who trumpets the onset of new life. If, as yet, you aren't engaged with life doing what you love, yet that is one of your goals, create a personal friendship with Gabriel. Yes, friendship, as you would with your best and most trusted friend. Let him know your heart's desire---that you want to bring to life what you love to do, and make a difference in the world. You might begin your daily writing with this:

Dear Gabriel, guide me, bless me, move my pen. Thank You."

Each time you inscribe the Letter Aa, do so with attention and purposefulness.

How to inscribe: Aa

Uppercase:

Scoop up from the baseline to the top of the upperzone, drop straight down to the baseline creating an "I am" stroke. Keeping pen on paper, scoop up to the left with an inverted curve stroke, going to the left of the initial stroke. Create a horizontal loop and thrust it forward. This loop declares, "Nothing can stop me!" Put pressure on that pen of yours when you inscribe it! This is "The Star A"

Lowercase:

Beginning at the top of the midzone, inscribe an oval (not a circle) ending gently at the baseline.

Caveat: No inner clutter in this letter; make sure it's closed top and bottom.
