This weekend is the Loveland Corn Roast Festival. Walk in the parade with Mark Shaffer, candidate for HD51 on Saturday morning. See details below. In case you haven't heard, President Obama will be returning to Colorado and will be hosting an event on Tuesday evening at CSU during the Republican's convention. I'd rather be in Fort Collins than Tampa almost any day. We don't have the details for this event yet, but we will post them on our website as soon as they become available. Volunteers Needed for the Corn Roast Booth
We need volunteers to help staff our booth at Loveland's Corn Roast Festival Friday and Saturday, August 24 and 25. Join us and support our local candidates.
Open shifts: Friday, August 24 5 pm - 10 pm; Sat., August 25 8 am - 10 pm.
We also need help setting up and taking down.
Tuesday, August 28: President Obama at CSU President Obama will hold a campaign rally LOCATION at CSU. Tickets are required. You can pick up your ticket on DATE, TIME at LOCATION. Please note, you will need to visit one of President Obama's campaign offices for tickets. We do not have tickets at the Larimer County Democrats' Office. Wildfire Victims Speak Out About Insurance Problems, Seek Solutions
Homeowners who lost their homes and possessions to the High Park wildfire will share their experiences with the aftermath of the fire, including problems they are facing with their insurance companies. Homeowners impacted by the Waldo Canyon fire in Colorado Springs or the Woodland Heights fire in Estes Park have also been invited. The state insurance commissioner, state legislators (including Rep. Randy Fischer and Rep. John Kefalas), representatives of Gov. John Hickenlooper's office and county commissioners will participate in this public hearing to identify potential solutions.
