Message from the Chair

Our Larimer County Democrats Annual Picnic is on Saturday, September 8th from 4:00 - 7:00 pm. We will gather in Dian Sparling's backyard and our 2012 Democratic team lead will be our new Congressman, Jared Polis. Join all of our Larimer candidates, Representatives John Kefalas and Randy Fischer, Joann Ginal, Mark Shaffer, James Shelton and Karen Stockley by going to LarimerDems.org and reserving your place today. Please sign up early to help us prepare enough food for this special election year event.

On August 6, 1965, President Lyndon Johnson signed the Voting Rights Act into law and reinforced one of our most important American values. This law made voting rules that disenfranchised voters a federal offense and defended every citizen's access to a ballot. Today, we are witnessing a taxpayer funded Republican campaign against the greatest political idea in history: that all the people deserve a vote. In all of our swing states, Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania, and here in Colorado, our civil rights lawyers are defending ballot access for everyone. Invest in your values with local Democratic candidates today. One man or one woman=one vote.

Here is the link to check your voter registration, larimer.org/elections.

--William Russell

"We love the ability of the people to influence the actions of
decision-makers, of lawmakers and presidents to be removed from
or elevated to office by the will of voters, and of the community to
connect amongst diverse populations through the ballot box."

--U.S. Rep. Charles Rangel, D-NY
