Message from the Chair
Tonight we gather for the Convention and Assembly of the new and improved Colorado Congressional District 2 at the La Quinta in Loveland, Colorado. We will nominate Congressman Jared Polis and State Board Education member Angelika Schroeder for their first term serving you and I. We'll be meeting for the first time with delegates from Boulder, Jefferson, Park, Broomfield, Grand, Eagle, Summit, Gilpin and Clear Creek counties.
At the Convention side of this meeting we hope to elect six members of the Larimer County Democrats to support President Barack Obama at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C. this September. Your candidates for this convention are Joe Coop, Derek Ketner, Tim Kubik, Lindsay Lussan, Willa Prescott, and David Trask. Please support your fellow Larimer County Democrats.
The 2012 Annual Dinner and Silent Auction was a great success. Attendance was up 40% over last year. 115 Century Club members attended, and we added a few more at the event. The Silent Auction was spectacular, diverse and productive. Of course, our headliner, John Nichols, rocked the house with his tales of Wisconsin's efforts to recall Scott Walker. Let's recall Scott Gessler too!
Thanks to all the contributors to this annual fundraising success. This is a major step towards our election year goals of electing more Democrats to office and seeing our values represented in D.C., Denver, and Larimer County government. To all those that contributed to our silent auction, bid on those items, worked the tables, organized the orders, served on the Fundraising Events Committee, and bought seats at the 2012 Annual Dinner and Silent Auction, Thank You.
--William Russell
"When Wisconsinites exercised their indubitable, unalienable, and indefeasible rights, they were greeted by the Tories of this age with the same sort of abuse that was directed at the Revolutionaries of 1776, and at the champions of the Bill of Rights in 1789."
--John Nichols, from Uprising

Tuesday, April 3:
CD2 Assembly & Convention
There has been some confusion caused by the CD2 Call issued by the CDP for the meeting at La Quinta in Loveland on Tuesday night, April 3. I don't know whether this item was caught in many spam filters but everyone who applied at the Larimer County Democratic Assembly is a delegate. The Larimer County Democrats will continue to advertise this meeting and the business we have to do that night in an effort to keep everybody informed.
These are the Larimer County Democrats candidates for Charlotte, N.C. Democratic National Convention: Joseph Coop, Derek Ketner, Tim Kubik, Lindsay Lussan, Willa Prescott, David Trask.
If you applied to be a Delegate to the Colorado Democratic Party Convention and Assembly you are going. The call will be issued sometime in the first week of April.
