Message from the Chair
After a conversation just yesterday with our local election office, I have some more information on the rule change Secretary of State Scott Gessler sprung on the voters of Colorado two weeks ago.
To recap, anybody that did not vote in the general election of November 2010, and did not have any contact with our Larimer County Elections department (Larimer.org/elections or 498-7820) between then and now, probably will not be mailed a ballot for this October's election. These voters have been deactivated.
Only "active" voters will be mailed a mail-in ballot. The easiest way to become active again is to call 498-7820 before October 3 and ask to be mailed a ballot. You can also go online with your driver's license ready at www.larimer.org/elections and update your registration before October 3 . After October 3 , you must visit one of the walk-in service centers (listed at www.larimer.org/elections, click on current election) and ask to be mailed a ballot, or just vote when you're there.
Next Monday, October 3, is also important because of the fundraiser for Senator Brandon Shaffer at New Belgium Brewery. In honor of Secretary of State Scott Gessler's blatant and unethical attempts to undermine Colorado election law and Colorado elections, let's show up and raise money for Senator Shaffer, our Democratic candidate for Congressional District 4. Don't get mad, get even. See the details below.
