NDCO May Update: the National Development Centre Ontario athletes and coaches have been busy preparing for upcoming events.

There have been 23 athletes training at the NDCO ( 7 women, 16 men) during the last month.

They have been doing several daily on water sessions. In addition to the on water work, they have also done physiological assessments including lactate testing, strength testing and bloodwork.

They are working with a great team of coaches, a sport nutritionist, sport psychologist, exercise physiologist and strength trainer.

Ontario did well at the recent High Performance Development trials May 28 &29 and are preparing for the upcoming June events.

Keep your eye out for them at the Can Am Mex trials, Junior National Team selection and US Elite Nationals.

May 27/28 At the finish line:

The finish line is where I was able to see each start and finish of the RCA High Performance regatta last weekend. I had a great view all the way down the course and THE BEST view of the finish. Man those athletes work hard! I had a few tasks to do as well  like operating the stop watch, recording times but nothing I couldn't handle.

Would you like to know my secret spot to see all this?! The finish tower! You too could have the very same experience by becoming an UMPIRE or a REGATTA VOLUNTEER! Most of you are already there to watch your children or enjoy the sport. Why not help give back to making these events possible. There are still a few umpire clinics left this year to take so REGISTER NOW! If you are interested in volunteering for a particular event CONTACT US! I look forward to seeing you at the next event!
