| Greetings! |
Summer is gone and school is already here, but before we move into our Fall programs, our staff wants to say Thank You! We had around 400 students this summer and for the most part, everything went amazingly well. If you would like to talk to us about this summer and how it went (good or bad), please visit; http://www.gatewaysinternational.ca/feedback.htm for feedback. Registration is now open for our fall classes and we are excited to see the new season start. So many things are on the go that it's hard to go over everything in one newsletter. Entrepreneurial Classes - Patrick Giesbrecht
| Gateways is pleased to announce that Patrick Giesbrecht will be teaching our business classes at our learning centre and will be teaching online.
Patrick has been an entrepreneur at heart since his earliest memories but moved into an auto body mechanics career after school on the advice from family that he needed a trade to fall back on. 10 years later, in 2000, he ventured into the business world and his life was profoundly changed. It wasn't long before Patrick realized that one of the biggest thrills he got from being in business was building relationships with suppliers, potential clients and colleagues. And while the first business failed spectacularly, he realized that a whole new world had opened up for him.

Digital Arts - Steve Stancyzk
| Students will learn the preliminary elements of the Adobe Photoshop program including working with layers, transparency, numerous filters and tools such as cloning, painting, and various artistic effects. Students will also learn how to import, manipulate, edit and print images using Photoshop. To create digital artwork pieces, students will use both their digital cameras (if they have them) and a scanner to import photos, drawings and other material such as magazine pictures. Students will also learn how to prepare images for both the internet and printing, including cropping, pixel and dpi dimensions and sizing.

Multiple Intelligences
|
 | | Howard Gardner of The Multiple Intelligence Theory | At Gateways we believe that our school system has lost it's way and has based a lot of it's understanding upon the IQ test. As Howard Gardner speaks upon the limitations on such a failing system, Gateways is building a winning system where we see all children as gifted.
