BC Skills Competition
|
Welcome to the 16th BC Skills Competition. It is difficult to visualize, walking into a building with over 5000 other people and seeing more than 400 young people building, designing, troubleshooting, adjusting and cooking in the hopes of winning a gold medal. The only way to understand it is to see it first hand.
Michael, Dylan and Lex were our team members this year and did very well in the First BC Skills Competition for mindstorms. Created by Dereck Dirom of Yale Secondary, he did an excellent job in putting on an event that challenged the teams.

We will be offering programs for; - 2D & 3D Computer Animation - Robotics - TV/Video Production - IT PC Network Support Want to join our team for next year? We will start promoting spots on our teams in September. |
Techy Moms!

Moms play a very important role in helping Gateways! They are working behind the lines to get our programs up and running. Kimberly Gustafson started a business partnership with Gateways in Bellingham; www.bricksandbeyond.com and has seen great success in her city. Kimberly started her program up a year ago and continues to see students take her programs. She is a LEGO fanatic Mom and will love to talk to you about getting your kids geared up. Lisa helped with the BC Skills Connect tournament and has offered her support in this challenging program. She also was instrumental in getting a program up and running at her school; RC Garnett. Angela spent her time in getting a program up and running at Fraser Valley Elementary, Katherine started a program at Ecole la Verendrye and Andrea was instrumental in getting us into New Westminister.
Without our moms pushing ahead and getting our programs running, we wouldn't have had the success that we have had.
So a big thank you to our moms and to all the moms that have seen the importance of our programs!
