Fall is upon us and we are excited to kick off the new year. We will be having a grand re-opening event which is described below. This year, we are excited to offer robotics classes throughout the lower mainland. Many principals throughout the valley are calling and asking us to have this exciting program at their school. We so very much appreciate your involvement in helping us make this program a success at our school! This program is not the only exciting venue we have planned, we have created a variety of fun and creative programs geared towards challenging and bringing out the best in our students. With the drastic cuts in school budgets, we want to be able to offer classes that are both affordable and ingenuitive.  Come join us for our fun-filled Grand Opening on September 11th between 10:00am and 3:00pm. We have exciting activities for learners of all ages. There will be cool prizes, tournaments, contests and games. You will have an opportunity to test your building skills, compete in a race-car obstacle course, design your own computer game, show off your creative writing talents, and much, much more!! Don't worry about lunch, we'll have a low priced BBQ ($5) at 12pm, so you can keep competing and having fun. | Our new English Literature Teacher |
 Cara-Joy Steem, M.A. Engl Cara-Joy has recently joined our growing team here at Gateways Learning Centre. After ranking in the top 5 percentile of her graduating year, she pursued her Master's in English Literature at Queen's University: one of Canada's oldest and most prestigious academic institutions. While completing her graduate degree, she was a Teaching Assistant for several university English classes where she taught the fundamental skills of comprehension, analysis and writing. Since her graduation, she has shared her passion for the English language and Literature with students of various ages, interests, and abilities. From creative writing to more formal styles, Cara-Joy enjoys the opportunity to help others learn the skills they need in order to be successful in the goals they are pursuing. Her love of learning and encouraging, warm-hearted approach helps learners improve their confidence, competence, and proficiency. She understands that every student comes to the classroom with unique needs and interests and she endeavours to tailor classes to the specific needs and perspectives of her students.
