Having trouble adjusting the float Valve?

First, determine where the operating water level should be. The manufacturer's maintenance manual is a good place to start. Something like 5" below the overflow level is common.

For a standard mechanical float:

·         Turn off the make-up and drain or add water to achieve the recommended operating level in the basin.

·         Adjust the float arm so the make up valve is closed with the float exerting moderate closing pressure on the valve.

·         Turn on the make-up water and confirm the float valve is closed. Adjust the float ball slightly if necessary.

·         Drain a small amount of water from the basin and observe that the float valve will maintain the desired level.

·         Once the level is set, hold the float down and fill the basin to its overflow level.

·         Close the access door; You're done.
