Lindsay Lettow, DMC '08, has qualified for the 2012 Olympic trials in the Pentathlon! Lindsay was also awarded the honor of 2012 MIAA Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year yet again! Praise the Lord for Lindsay's outstanding abilities, and pray that she continues to give God all praise and honor and glory through her athletic talents!

In order to refresh the content of summer newsletters, I have decided to periodically "introduce" the new 2012-2013 staff members to you. He graduated from Pella Christian High School. He played college basketball with Gailen Veurink and Joel Veenstra in Sioux Center and professional ball in Europe. He was the very successful Dordt College men's basketball coach for the better part of two decades. He coached Des Moines Christian's own Matt Fynaardt and Nate Schelhaas. He has most recently served as Athletic Director, Development Officer, and Business Executive for a Christian school in California. He's coming home to Iowa, and he is going to serve as the new full-time Athletic Director at Des Moines Christian. Who is he? Greg Van Soelen! All of Greg's references spoke so highly of his character, attention to detail, organization, and knowledge of athletics. He seems to be the perfect fit as the first-ever full-time Athletic Director at DMC. The interview team expressed great appreciation for Greg's experience, commitment to Christian education, strong leadership abilities, gift sets which meet the school's current needs, and love for athletics. Welcome Greg and Kathy Van Soelen and their four children -- Mady, Keaton, Eden, and Ava!
