Theme of the 2011-2012 School Year:

TRUST IN THE LORD!

Memory Scripture for the 2011-2012 School Year:

Proverbs 3

Key Verses for 2011-2012:

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."  (Proverbs 3:5-6, English Standard Version)

Verses for the Week:

"1My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, 2for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you.  3Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. 4So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man. 5Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. 7Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil. 8It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones 9Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce 10then your(A) barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine. 11My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline or be weary of his reproof 12for the LORD reproves him whom he loves, as a father the son in whom he delights. 13Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding, 14for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold. 15She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her.  16Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand areriches and honor. 17 [Wisdom's] ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. 18[Wisdom] isa tree of life to those who lay hold of her; those who hold her fast are called blessed. 19 The LORD by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding he established the heavens. . . (Proverbs 3:1-19, English Standard Version)

"Love is anterior to life, posterior to death, initial of creation, and the exponent of breath.  (Emily Dickinson, American poet)

This Week's Scripture -

"The LORD by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding he established the heavens. . . ."  (Proverbs 3:19, English Standard Version)

This Week's Prayer -

"Lord, how exciting to face a new year! I look forward expectantly to how You are going to work in and through my life in 2012.  Lord, please give me wisdom which can only come from You.  You established the heavens, the earth, and everything else in creation.  I am so grateful to be a part of that creation.  Redeem me, Lord.  I know I sin.  Change me.  Help me to resist temptation.  Help me to repent of my sin.  Turn me into the image of Jesus Christ.  Amen."

There will be a Special Finance Committee on January 16th at 5:30 p.m. in the Elementary Teachers' Workroom to continue discussion about the details of the 2012-2013 budget. Association members are invited to attend the meeting.

School parent Mary Maltby was one of several parents who joined the students on Tuesday, January 3rd to hear Senator Rick Santorum, candidate seeking the nomination as Republican nominee for the United States Presidency. You can read about the assembly and Mrs. Maltby's answers to the reporter's questions here.

Praise the Lord that we are enhancing our security and safety at DMC as a result of a donor's generosity!  Beginning in January, Early Education parents will access that area of the building with fobs, since the location will be locked-down completely.  Also, we will begin limiting access to both the Secondary area and Elementary area by containing traffic to the handicapped-accessible door only at 9:00 a.m.  That way, the bad guys who don't know our building access well can be limited in their access.  (Please do not share this plan with others -- for the safety of your children.)  Coaches, P.E. teachers, and Secondary music instructors will also be limited by fobs and asked not to block open the brown doors near the trophy cases.  Thank you for learning our new "flight patterns" in the school.  Limiting access means greater safety for your children!

FINAL CALL:  Immediate Opening for Part-Time Lunchroom Server: The DMCS kitchen needs a lunchroom server on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.  Regular hours are 10:15 a.m. until 1:45 p.m.  If you are interested in serving one or more days, please submit your application to Julia Veenstra, Business Manager.  Applications can be found on our website under "Employment."

FINAL CALL: Never Eat Lunch Alone Again! How would you like to spend lunch with Junior High and High School students and get paid for it?  We are in need of two (2) individuals to help supervise the secondary lunchroom from the hours of 11:45-1:15pm daily. Lunchroom supervisors help oversee junior high and high school students as they eat lunch. Supervisors also oversee the student crew of lunchroom cleaners. Please check out the DMC employment page for more details.

Closing Quote -
