You have:

  • Clothed/sheltered the homeless
  • Provided safety to victims of domestic violence
  • Empowered the weak
  • Educated individuals and families
  • Improved our community

YOU have made a staggering impact on those who need it the most. I hope knowing that feels good! We recognize many of you and your efforts daily on facebook. I encourage you all to click "like us" on our Facebook link below and help us thank each other.

The one month left in 2011 brings special opportunities to give and receive. Please remember A New Leaf when making your year-end charitable gifts and tax-credit donations.

The Christmas Box that Changed my Life!

Lisa and her two childrenBecause of my embarrassment at my family being in a homeless shelter, it was several days before I could look anyone in the eye.

It was a few days before Christmas, when I swallowed my pride and accepted a box of gifts, donated by one of your kind supporters. My heart began to melt and it was a turning point.

A THANKFUL THANKSGIVING!
Desert Devils
Maria Sala, A New Leaf Development Coordinator, Patricia Eaton Perez, Owner/Operator of Desert Devils and Chupim Hoffman, AmeriCorps Volunteer

An enormous thanks goes to Beth Higginbotham, Jane Bower, Jessica Eaton, Patricia Eaton Perez and her gymnasts at Desert Devils Gym for their gracious donation of 50 turkeys and fixings!

When she dropped them off, Patricia shared what so many of you have found, "It feels so good to give."

Because of their generosity, the children, families and individuals living in A New Leaf shelters will be enjoying the tastes and aroma of roasted turkeys this holiday season.

WE ARE THANKFUL!
