Bringing support to a personal level...

Shane Orlando, owner of Orlando Development LLC, does more than volunteer his skills to A New Leaf. When positions become available, he and his equally kind employees remember the homeless men at EVMC and match skills to the needs of the company.

Below are some life changing opportunities he has provided to the men in our shelter.

  • Employed one resident since January who has now received his written certification as a "Water Repair Tech"
  • Employed another resident since June

Both men now have medical insurance cards and valid driver's licenses

  • Provided work for three additional residents working a 30-day job up in the cool pines

The Company is working on the possibility of converting the 30-day job into one full-time position

  • Provided short-term work for additional helpers who were available to complete an urgent customer need

What kind of man makes a difference? One who cares! Shane is one such man! His kind-hearted employees, who share his passion to help, work side-by-side, mentoring the men from EVMC.

On behalf of these men in our shelter, we thank them for second chances! One simple act of kindness can change a man's life, once he believes he can turn over a new leaf!

SOMETHING TO PONDER:

Many of you who are business owners, might want to explore the possibilities of helping a man recovering from hard luck or past mistakes, who is committed and ready to embark on a life changing experience.
