Years in foster care had Roseanne worrying herself to sleep at night. "What's going to happen to me when I turn 18?" That was her ever present concern.
Eventually, the day came when she aged out of the system. Not long ago, Roseanne would have found herself homeless. But today, thanks to A New Leaf's EMPOWER program, she, and 31 other young adults, enjoy safety, shelter and a future of opportunities to look forward to.
Six months into the program, Roseanne is feeling very positive about her future. She is attending college to become a social worker. Her greatest desire is to help others who have experienced similar challenges. She currently awaits a court date that will determine if she can gain custody of her 14 year-old sister, Rhonda.
Roseanne isn't waiting for college graduation to help change another life. Our best wishes are with her and her sister. But more than that, the services you support through A New Leaf programs, help ensure her success!
