Greetings! | |
We were astounded at the generosity in the room at A New Leaf Foundation's 27th Annual Camaraderie Gala Fundraiser's Live Auction. One of the evening's Live Auction goals was to reach $12,500 in bed sponsorship. Within 8 minutes, we had surpassed that amount and pulled in $31,500 to help purchase and change out 63 beds in our shelters. The supporter participation was brilliant!
We debuted an A New Leaf video prior to the Sponsor-a-Bed Live Auction that had a great impact on the results. You "gotta" see it! Find our Youtube channel link on the left sidebar.
This wasn't to be our only record setting acheivement. The event's net proceeds surpassed $178,000 in support of our shelters. In an age where special events are rumored to have surpassed their usefullness, we've topped the charts with the generosity of committed supporters. These businesses and individuals not only give throughout the year, but enjoy this opportunity to gather with a significant voice that says "We Want to Celebrate Together."
The entire "Evening on the Nile" was like ancient magic with so many walking proud like Egyptians. You can find out more information about these special donors and the impact they are having in our community as you continue to read this issue.

Scott Ford, Shasta Auctions...An Inspired Auctioneer! |
Scott Ford, owner of Shasta Auctions brought inspiration to the Live Auction as he transitioned Auction participants from securing smart trip packages to defining the impact those purchases have on the children, individuals and families living in A New Leaf's shelters.
He, and his sister, Jineane Ford, made an awesome duet! |

Somebody's Getting A New Bed! |
 | Cassandra P.
|
"How do I feel about getting a new bed in our unit, you ask? Secretly, I hoped for one, but never would have complained. I feel grateful that I can actually sleep with peace in my heart now. And my Cassandra is happy to snuggle up to me where ever we sleep.
With that said, I have to tell you I'm really tickled pink to know that I won't be sleeping in this bed much longer. I'm truly grateful for everything A New Leaf is doing for us. I'm trying to stay cheerful and upbeat and to think of all the blessings. I fully intend to keep a positive outlook."
