| Greetings! |

I'm pleased to announce a "New Donation Acceptance Policy" in the interest of providing more dedicated time, resources and support to our clients and programs.
Effective immediately, we only accept new donations. Used items can be dropped off at one
of several agency/thrift stores that support our clients/programs (see at close of this message).
This may be a challenging concept for many of our dedicated donors who have been quick to respond to our client's needs by donating their used clothing and recycled treasures.
Please click below for reasons behind these important donation changes.

| IN CASE YOU MISSED THESE AZ REPUBLIC ARTICLES ON A NEW LEAF... |
Transitional housing helps empower young woman by Jim Walsh - Sept. 27, 2010 02:42 PM The Arizona RepublicCindy Pham was taken from her parents by state Child Protective Services as a child and spent most of her life bouncing among foster and group homes.
Her siblings dropped out of high school and some even ended up in jail. Pham worried a similar life awaited her as she faced the prospect of homelessness when she turned 18.
But after she found A New Leaf's Empower Program, Pham is suddenly a young woman full of self-confidence, proud she became the first person in her family to graduate from high school and even prouder that she's attending Mesa Community College.
Mergers helping social service agencies survive
by Jim Walsh - Sept. 27, 2010 02:42 PM The Arizona RepublicTwo of Mesa's largest social-service agencies have become examples of how other non-profits can survive during the recession by using new strategies to increase revenues or cut costs.
Through a combination of mergers, partnerships and even spinoff business, A New Leaf and Marc Center have grown into social-service mega-agencies.
A New Leaf gradually matured from a drug and alcohol treatment agency into a wide-ranging human-services provider, merging with struggling smaller agencies that provided similar services. Read More |

Little Pumpkins for Little Pumpkins! |
Fun loving, family activities are just as essential to the well-being of the children in our programs as shampoo and a warm bed.
While you're passing the seasonal pumpkin patches, please stop and pick up some small pumpkins to donate to the children in our programs this month.
It's the simple things that bring joy to the children we serve. Thank you for helping out! |
