"What Makes You an Entrepreneur?"

The Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development announced today it will open the second annual, 'What Makes You an Entrepreneur' video competition to entries. Interested parties may apply online at the Tennessee Open for Business website: http://tnopenforbusiness.org/.
"Last year, Tennessee made its mark as one of the top participating states for Global Entrepreneurship Week," said Matt Kisber, commissioner, Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. "With the second installment of the entrepreneurship video competition, we hope to continue our custom of recognizing entrepreneurs, who are the backbone of our state's economy."
The 'What Makes You an Entrepreneur?' video competition is a component of the state's Global Entrepreneurship Week celebration. Global Entrepreneurship Week 2010 will be held November 15 - 21 and is a worldwide event intended to inspire, connect, mentor and engage young people with the desire to change the world.
Entries will be accepted through Oct. 31. Finalists will be selected from five business categories: Main Street/downtown; home-based; agri-business; arts and entertainment; and innovation. Videos should be no longer than five minutes, and the overall state winner will be announced during Global Entrepreneurship Week. Complete contest details can be found at the official website: http://tnopenforbusiness.org/.
The overall statewide contest winner will receive a $500 cash prize and a marketing package valued at approximately $2,000. Other category winners will receive statewide recognition and an award presented during Global Entrepreneurship Week. A list of last year's winners can be seen here: http://tnopenforbusiness.org/winners.html.
