Greetings!

New Year's greetings! It's hard to believe that 2012 is here already. We were certainly blessed beyond measure in 2011 and are hopeful for the blessings this new year will bring our lives and our ministry. See below for our latest news and our goals for this year. Many blessings!

Ministry News

The last months of 2011 and the first few weeks of 2012 were busy times for SALAM. Rani shared with two churches in Kentucky: Gethsemane Baptist and Hedgeville Baptist and enjoyed the experience. He also had the opportunity to share with a church in Georgia: Heritage Church where he shared a Christmas themed message. We rejoice that several people chose to receive Christ during the service!

We were both invited to share about our ministry at a Christmas party with a group of believers in Dallas during December and also with two bible study groups during January. We had a great time meeting and getting to know some of these amazing people and look forward to another chance to meet!

SALAM is also in the process of rolling out our newest initiative: CASE for the Holy Land! CASE stands for Connect, Adopt, Serve, Encourage believers in the Holy Land. We're looking forward to developing this and working with ministries here and abroad. We are also pleased to announce our newest partnership with Salam Bethlehem Ministry, located in Bethlehem and serving Palestine.

Upcoming Events

This month, Rani resumed teaching the Bridges course on Muslim and Christian interaction at Hunter's Glen and is enjoying it immensely. We both were able to share with the GA's class at Hunter's Glen this month and they loved hearing about Arab culture.

Rani will be speaking at Jacksonville Christian College in Jacksonville, TX on Feb 15th. In March, he will begin teaching a new Missions course at HGBC.

Along with rolling out our new initiative CASE, we will be developing a new website, which we hope to launch in the near future.

Arab women pray at the annual Mother's Day Celebration, 2011

Every year, Arab women in the Holy Land look forward to the annual Mother's Day celebration, held during March. The event has grown steadily over the past several years and now attracts more than 1,000 women. The celebration features music and testimony from Arab believers around the world and concludes with an evangelical message presented by an Arab Christian leader. Every year, many women from all walks of life make the decision to follow Christ.

This year, that celebration may not happen. The ministry that has sponsored the event in the years past is unable to provide sponsorship this year, leaving the local women's ministry the difficult task of raising $12,000 by March.

Please pray that the women's ministry will be able to raise the money to host this life changing event for Arab women.
