Dear Firefighter Credit Unions
I'm pleased to report that, due to continued support of our firefighter credit unions, it appears that we are on track for the 2012 convention. We have been busy as a board to come up with a program that will support credit union activities and help develop new relationships. We look forward to meeting new members and certainly seeing the familiar faces of our current members.
The board of directors recently posted a dues increase for the coalition and has now recanted that decision. In the interest of bringing this before the membership we will submit a proposal at the annual meeting for your consideration. We want everyone to know that no credit union will be turned down for membership on the inability to pay for its membership. The coalition supports unity of all firefighter credit unions and this includes supporting those credit unions that might need assistance to be with us. We hope you will join the coalition, the benefits on our web page www.ncofcu.org plus you will be able to vote at the annual meeting.
We are still looking for more sponsors to attend and display their services at the convention. If you are dealing or know of a vendor that would like to attend please email Grant Sheehan, grant@ncofcu.org with any contacts. Your vendors are business associates that can offer services to your fellow credit unions. We ask that you register early for the convention and make your hotel reservations as soon as possible. Long Beach is going to be another successful convention and we hope you are there. There will be an optional golf outing or a Hollywood tour that includes numerous stops, be sure to sign up for one of these events. The Monday evening reception and dinner aboard the Queen Mary a registered historic place looks to be a high light of activities.
The board of directors has been meeting every month via phone. Our June meeting will be in person in Chicago; this meeting is being funded by each board members credit union or by the member themselves. We felt this was important to allow for proper time to evaluate our performance and proceed with commitment for the future development of the coalition. We will be reporting at the annual meeting the proceedings throughout this year. Thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
Michael R Tobler
Chairman of the Board
