United Way

Greetings!

Classes have started and we're in full school mode!  Education remains one of our highest priorities here at Stepping Stones and your support help us ensure our youth are staying in and graduating from school.

In this edition, Stephanie McGee, one of our Independent Living Coaches, discusses what it's like to meet the needs of youth experiencing homelessness.  United Way's 2012 Annual Campaign has begun and, new this year, you can designate your support to their "Education" priority or their "Employment" or "Essentials."  Helping to get the word out about Stepping Stones and United Way, Ivy Tech is participating in the "Front Page Challenge," a UW and Bloom Magazine collaboration.  NAP Credits are still available and more!

There's lots of news inside this month's edition.  Make sure to check it out!

2011 Annual Report is Out!

Due to an unanticipated delay in our audit, our annual report is belated in getting to you, our supporters.  We apologize for the delay.

Our goal is to communicate to you the many ways your gift has an impact.  As you'll see from this year's report, our program continues to grow by more housing and service opportunities for youth and it's all thanks to support from people like you.

Some highlights from the report:

  • 89% of youth found stable employment while in our program (pg 9)
  • 73% increased their relationships with their parents (pg 10)
  • And, as one resident put it, you've helped create something that was "the closest thing I've had to a family that cared about me."
