Greetings!
We hope this email frinds you well.
2012 has begun and we're excited about what we have planned for this year. Over the past couple of years, we've been gradually increasing the number of beds that we have in our program for youth experiencing homelessness and, this year, we anticipate adding 2 more beds, bringing us to 12!
And this could only be done with help from people like you! "THANK YOU!"
Over the next couple of months, look for more updates regarding Homeward Bound, Icing on the Cake and a survey asking for your opinion on how you think we're doing. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated.
All the best,
Warren |

Applicants and New Residents | When a youth comes to stay the night in our program as an applicant, we provide them with an "Overnight Basket." That basket contains sanitary items like shampoos and soap and household items like towels. Additionally, we provide these youth with food from partners like Mother Hubbard's Cupboard or the Hoosier Hills Food Bank.
Then, when they become a resident, we supply them with a "Welcome Basket," which includes similarly needed household and personal items.
Can you help us fill these baskets?
We're in constant need of items like shampoo and deodorant and household items like garbage bags, toilet paper, and paper towels. Some other items include sheet sets for twin beds, bathroom towels and comforters.
This support makes the transition from homelessness to residency a smooth and friendly transition as we welcome them. For more ways to donate items, check out our WISHLIST.

| This is a big year for Homeward Bound and Stepping Stones.
It's the 10th Anniversary of the walk (and Stepping Stones has been doing it since 2007) and the Homeward Bound Agencies are hoping to get 1000 people out to the park to walk for the homeless and raise $100,000!
Can you help us reach this goal? We're hoping to raise $10,000 of that amount! Last year, you made that possible.
The Homeward Bound Walk will be Sunday, April 15th at Third Street Park!
Homeward is a 5k walk for Homelessness intervention and prevention. We partner with 11 different agencies to raise funds and awareness about the issues of homelessness.
12:00 pm - Registration & Pre-Walk Entertainment Begins
1:00 pm - WALK STARTS!
2:00 pm - Return to the park for music, food, fun and team recognition
To get involved, just remember the "Five R's"
- Register - go online to homewardboundindiana.org/bloomington and register today!
- Reach Out - let other friends, family and coworkers know that you're helping to raise money for Stepping Stones and they can help, too.
- Recruit - Get those friends, family members and coworkers to join you. Registration is simple and, even if they are unable to attend the walk, they can help you collect donations.
- Rally - Get excited about the walk. It's a great time with food, music and lots of great Bloomington agencies who do great work. Be creative! Awards are given for the "Most Walkers," "Top Team Fundraiser," "Top Individual Fundraiser" and "Best Theme."
- Raise - This event is one of the most fun events we do all year and is one of the best ways for you to show your support of Stepping Stones and for our residents. Please, help us reach our goal of $10,000!
Check out http://homewardboundindiana.org/bloomington for more information.
Feel free to contact us if you have any questions!

Get Involved! | There are numerous ways in which you can lend a hand and affect the lives of youth experiencing homelessness in our community. And when you do, you help our residents :
- remain in and graduate from high school (50% of homeless youth have or will drop out of high school);
- gain and maintain employment (most of them have never had a job before);
- manage their finances (most have never had earned income to manage);
- and learn other skills to help them transition successfully into adulthood.
We have various opportunities, needs and suggestions for you to help partner with us:
- You can make a financial contribution to our organization! Your financial support makes it possible for the needs of youth to be served. You have made it possible for us to
serve these youth by providing more housing opportunities for youth, more outreach services, and added depth to current services we offer. You can visit our Paypal account and make a contribution today or send a check or cash to our PO Box. Our new residents need items like shampoo, deodorant, and other sanitary items and our office needs supplies like pen and paper. - Spread the word about us to your friends and family! You can Forward this email by clicking on the "Forward this to a friend!" link near the bottom of the page. Or are you on Social Media like Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn? If you're on Facebook and are a "fan" of us, a simple @Stepping Stones, Inc. in your message will tag us and direct people to our page. Or, on Twitter, a simple "Mention" of @Stepping_Stones will direct folks to our feed. BLANK TEXT BLANK TEXT BLANK TEXT BLANK TEXT BLANK TEXT BLANK
- Come to our events or host your own! Throughout the year, Stepping Stones participates in many collaborative fundraising efforts like "Homeward Bound". Many members in our community have gotten really creative when it comes to finding ways to support us. Having Mustache Competitions during Movember (Mustache + November = Movember), hosting small benefit concerts, or asking the employer or a business they frequent to support us in some way.
Your support is essential and is what makes it all possible!
