Are YOU Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? Find out!
Happy Birthday Stepping Stones!
Greetings!

We're really excited to be using Constant Contact to keep all of you - our supporters - in the loop on what's happening at Stepping Stones.

This lets us communicate with you more, save some money and save some trees.  A big "Thank You!" to the Jack Hopkins Social Services Fund that made this possible.

In our first edition, we'd like to let you know what has been going on this fall and what we have planned for November!

NAP Tax Credits are Available!

NAP!

The Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) has awarded us with state tax credits to give to you!

This means, we need to raise $15,624!

Here's how it works:

  • For every donation $100 and over that you make, you can claim 50% of it as a state tax credit on your Indiana taxes.
  • Your NAP contribution can also be claimed as a federal deduction.
  • You have the opportunity to make a powerful impact on Stepping Stones and the homeless youth we serve.
  • Contact Warren Wade at (812) 339-9771 or wwade@steppingstones-inc.org to claim yours today!
  • Hurry, we have a limited number of credits and they're expected to go fast!

Are They Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?

Mark your calendars now for the 2nd Annual "Are They Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?" event on Thursday November 18 at 7 p.m. The event will feature local celebrities like Mayor Mark Kruzan, Pam Thrash of B97, Leo Cook, and Charlott Zietlow.  They will test their mettle against ten 5th students who, to participate in the show, wrote essays on how they would end hunger and homelessness.  The event will be hosted by Jim Inman and admission will be $10 at the door, children 5 & under get in for free.

It will be a night of fun and trivia you won't want to miss!
Stepping Stones Turned 5!
We celebrated our fifth birthday in September with a community open house! Several people stopped by to see our newly furnished apartments and enjoy food from Honey Baked Ham.

A much deserved "Thank You" goes out to Bounds and McPike for the new furnishings and to Honey Baked Ham for the food!

Board Member Jocelyn Bowie took some great photos of the event. Be sure to check them out on Facebook. Overall, the event was a lot of fun!

We're looking forward to the next five years!

We hope this is the first of many e-newsletters that you will be reading from us.

Let us know anything you would like to see in future editions.

Thanks to you all for making this possible!

Sincerely,

Warren Wade, Assistant Director
