Hello Dear Newman Parents,

It's clear! Summer weather is officially here! In a few weeks we'll have wrapped up another fantastic Newman school year and we'll be off to plan the next one. There's so much to do this time of year for parents, staff and especially for students. I hope that all of us can find time in the midst of all of this to sit quietly and bask in God's presence. In the words of my dear friend Brother Mark (O.C.S.O.), "Don't just do something! Sit There!!!"

I pray that in the coming days of awards ceremonies, induction ceremonies, graduation plans, promotions, etc. etc. we will all find time to just sit. Perhaps it will be with a child, a parent, a dear friend, or perhaps it will be alone in the arms our loving Savior.

Please pay attention to the, Week at a Glance 5/20-6/4. There's a ton of awesome events coming up starting with an eighth grade party tonight and a fun and newly styled Open House on Sunday night. Stop by at 6pm and take a walk through the school, visit with the teachers to see what we're up to and bring a friend to share the Newman experience with.  See the attached flyer for more information,Open House -- May 20, 2012.

Our NHS induction ceremony will be Tuesday night followed on Wednesday night with our Baccalaureate Mass at St. Anne's. I hate to repeat everything that you can find in the Week at a Glance but I want to make sure that people are aware that there is no daytime Mass on Wednesday, May, 23rd. Instead we will be holding the Underclass Awards ceremony at 10am in the gym. Again, there's a lot going on so be sure to study the Week-at-a-Glance carefully.

Finally I want to say "Thank you" to all of the wonderful parents that help take care of us throughout the year. The HS and MS Home and School parents have done so many wonderful things and pulled off another awesome job at the Senior Awards Night. Please consider taking on an active role in these essential groups.

Have a great next couple of weeks. When I write again all of the festivals, plans, and parties will be in the past, but the love of God and our call to serve Him in all we do will be as bright and present as always! See you Sunday night!

Your Servant in Christ- Jamie
