Greetings Newman Parents,

I hope you're all ready for the winter weather coming our way. I suspect I will see all of your somewhat disappointed, but nevertheless joy filled, children tomorrow morning at 7:30am. Of course, we never know....

I am writing to you to alert you to a somewhat unfortunate circumstance that arose as the students left school today. A man was outside school handing out fliers to our 6th-12th graders as they exited school. Even though staff and parents very quickly excused the man from our campus he was able to hand out a number of one paged typed fliers that were an attack on the nature of gifts available at a local store. Most unfortunately some of the language on the sheet dealt with matters of an adult nature that should only be discussed in the home between parents and children. Although the tone of the brief was one that our Christian parents might identify with, the topics were not appropriate to be shared with our students especially from a stranger.

I am proud to say that our staff and parents were very quick in dealing with this matter and assure you that our awareness is raised and diligence will rise accordingly. If your child received one of these flyers please discuss it with him or her as you see fit as their Parent and most important teacher.
