Heritage Musicians in Downtown Christmas Parade
Heritage music students, Donald Breyne, John Wienand, James Tiernan, Grant Nesmith, Ben Dudley, and Daniel Martin, are performing in the Newnan Christmas Parade on Sunday, December 4. The parade begins at 3:00 pm at the city park at Jackson Street and Temple Avenue, continues south on Jackson Street, though the Court Square, and out LaGrange Street to Newnan High School. The theme of the parade is "Home for the Holidays." The parade will include floats, walking groups, decorated cars and trucks, and music. Do not miss the parade and our talented musicians! |
Key Club Service Activity
Key Club students once again contributed to the Newnan Junior Service League's annual Christmas in Newnan drive by purchasing 25 children's books for needy families and by providing aid to ten elderly families. The elderly families were supplied with basic household supplies: detergent, toilet paper, soap, paper towels, tissues, paper plates, and cleaning supplies. We are proud of the Key Club for the many service projects they gladly undertake. |

The Heritage School collected 2,175 cans to contribute to the 28th Annual Newnan Junior Service League Can-A-Thon! With the addition of an anonymous donation of $5,000, the total can count for Heritage is actually a whopping 17,175 cans! Many thanks to the Heritage family for the generous donations.
Besides collecting cans, Heritage students were a driving force during the actual Can-A-Thon. Fifty-seven Key Club members volunteered on Tuesday, November 29, manning three Can-A-Thon sites: the Court Square, Senoia Main Street, and One Roof/Food Pantry. At One Roof, approximately 35 students unloaded trucks, hauled boxes, and sorted the hundreds of cans that arrived from the public school system and local industries. At the Court Square and Senoia sites, students braved the chilly weather to help unload cars and box donations for delivery to the Food Pantry. |

Have you ever opened up one of our library books and noticed that it has a special Birthday Book Plate honoring one of our students? It is one of the many Birthday Books added to our collection through our library's Birthday Book Program. Since 1995, families have graciously participated in our Birthday Book Program honoring students of all ages. It is a wonderful way to "share the gift of reading" and enhance our library. Birthday Books are presented at the monthly Lower School assemblies to ELC and Lower School students. Middle School students are presented their books in their classroom. Students love selecting and sharing a book that will have their name in it! More details about the Birthday Book Program can be found on the Media Center website or by calling the Media Center.
