Heritage recently received over $500.00 from the Target Take Charge of Education program! Thanks to all who are currently participating in the program. By simply shopping with your Target Credit Card, Target Debit Card or Target Visa Credit Card and designating our school, a percentage of the dollar amount of each purchase you make is donated back to our school. Next week is Interim Week, when the eighth through twelfth grades will be off campus on various excursions. Interim Week provides unique, enriching learning experiences, creates lifelong memories, and helps to set Heritage apart from other schools.
The Eighth Grade will visit our nation's capital. The Freshmen will travel to Skidaway Island and study marine life at the University of Georgia Marine Life Center in Savannah. The Sophomores perform community service, organizing themselves into groups and reaching out to a variety of organizations in our home community. The Juniors will take an extensive tour of six different colleges. The Seniors will enjoy a bonding experience and personal reflection on beautiful Cumberland Island. The campus will be quiet next week without these students!
Be sure to look for a report and photos of these wonderful experiences in an upcoming e-News. |
8th Grade Physical Science Class Studies Charles' Law
The eighth grade Physical Science class recently did a lab investigation on Charles' Law, the expansion and contraction of a gas in a closed system. Students watched the gases bubble out of the glass tube when the flask was warmed by their hands and, conversely, rise up the tube when an ice pack was placed on top. This lab helps the students to understand or explain the principle by which a barometer works with air pressure.

Heritage Grandparents' Club News
The fun, new Heritage Grandparents' Club is kicking off with a bake sale under the tent at the Homecoming football game on October 14.
The Club needs baked homemade goodies in small, zip-top bags, a few cakes to raffle, and volunteers to work the bake sale. Choose how you would like to help and let Courtenay Budd or Sandra Fuller know.
Courtenay Budd: (678) 410-5025 or courtsb1@aol.com Sandra Fuller: (770) 253-6929 or weegle1959@yahoo.com
The Club is forming because so many grandparents have expressed an interest in becoming more involved with the School. Grandparents, don't miss out on this opportunity to become active in the life of the Heritage School. |
