Heritage Fund Update - 50% Participation!
Our Heritage Fund participation among current families has grown to 50%! The foundations from whom we are seeking grant funds want to see our parent participation at 80% or better. Our goal remains at 100% parent participation, and we are halfway there!
The Participation by Grade race is getting interesting. The fifth grade is still in the lead, but the competition is close with the first and third grade classes! Remember, the first grade to reach 100% will be awarded a pizza party at the beginning of next school year! All gifts make a difference; no gift is too small; and if you have more than one child, your participation counts in each child's grade.
If you have not yet contributed to the Heritage Fund, please make your gift online today, or contact the front office at 770-253-9898 for a Heritage Fund gift form.

If you have already contributed to the Heritage Fund, on behalf of the students who benefit from your generosity, thank you for your support. |

"Bigs" and "Littles" Work Together

"Bigs" and "Littles" are pictured coloring in the coloring book they created together. A Book of Birds is a collaborative art project between Heritage kindergarten students and the sixth grade.
Each student in the sixth grade created a bird illustration in art class. These pictures were taken to the Kindergarten class to use as inspiration for a bird drawing by their little partners. Kindergarten drawings were then used to illustrate the cover of the coloring book. The result is a published keepsake.

The second grade has been studying the British Revolution. After learning about Nathan Hale and Benedict Arnold, the students wondered if they might have a British spy in their midst! They asked Ms. Gina's Upper School Physics class to help them find out. Pictured here, junior, Riley Faircloth, helps second grader, Aubrey Frambes, discover the spy! |
A Note of Gratitude, from Sherrill Lee
I would like to thank all the students and parents who bought candy to support my daughter, Laura Lee Chapman, in her endeavor to participate in the Susan G. Komen three-day Walk for the Cure. My daughter and I also want to thank those who donated online to the cause. To participate in this program is a big commitment, not only with money, but also with a participant's time. I cannot imagine walking 60 miles in three days and I am amazed that my daughter has committed to this event. I am so proud of her and I am willing to do everything that I can to help her follow through. Thanks to all of you, I now feel confident that she will be able to accomplish her goal. Many thanks.
~ Sherrill Lee |

It's that time of year again - the end of the school year -and we still have items in the Lost and Found.
The Lost and Found is located inside the gym, under the stairway and to the left of the main entrance doors (across from the SLC). Please stop by and check for your lost items!
Remember to label your child's name in every item that goes to school so that if it does end up in the Lost and Found, you will be able to locate it. The Parents' Club keeps the lost and found clean and organized; if they locate an item with a label, they will send an email to the parent. |
