 The fourth graders were detectives all week!
The tree topper from their Christmas tree went missing over the weekend of December 11-12. A note was left behind saying the ornament was borrowed, but would not be returned unless the students found the borrower.
When they arrived on Monday morning, they recruited Gina Watkiss to help them collect evidence at the "crime scene." Everyone was a suspect! The fourth graders interviewed, fingerprinted, and photographed many questionable characters. They conducted forensic lab work - analyzing fingerprints, footprints, hair samples, and handwriting. By Thursday afternoon, they had narrowed down the results and discovered the "thief" - computer teacher Mrs. Susan Heard!

 Eighth grader Natalie Bunch is the 2010 Heritage Champion of the National Geographic Bee. The School has participated in this program for twenty-two years. The Bee is sponsored by National Geographic to promote geography awareness in schools. Fourth through eighth graders all across the country compete within their schools. The School Champions take a written test, and the students with the top 100 scores will compete in the state meet in April. State winners proceed to the National Bee hosted by Alex Trebek in late May. |

 The Parents Club is planning the 2011-2112 Community Discount Card. The Discount Card is a plastic card featuring local business discounts. Unlike a coupon, the discount card can be used continuously at each business for one full year. Get Ready for the Lip Sync Show!
The Lip Sync Show will be Saturday, February 5, 2011. Participation is open to students first grade and up, parents, and faculty. Get your group together, pick a song, and work on your Lip Sync act! Sign up sheets will be available in the office after the Winter Break. The deadline to sign up is January 20. |
